That's no longer true. It's now a $250/$100 deductible. $250 if repairs are not performed at a JLR authorized service facility and $100 if repairs are performed at an authorized JLR authorized service facility.

Hmm, is that for policies purchased this year? I bought mine last year for my 2011 XJL and it is like XJsss said...$0 deductible if serviced at a Jag dealership.

Debi, I have changed the oil in my 2012 XJ twice by myself. There is a drain plug on the under side of the car. Now, the question becomes, accessing the drain plug. There is a cover plate on the underside of the car that is about 4x6 feet in size. It is held in place by about 15 bolts/nuts. You have to remove this plate to access the drain plug. It doesn't take long to do, but finding all the fasteners the first time may make things a little fun. The hardest ones to find are the two (1 on each side) that are tucked up by the tranny. Each side has 2 bolts that are out in the open. But, there is one on each side that is at the far back and is tucked up there a bit.
The biggest thing I find to be a "challenge" with the car is getting the oil level correct. There is no oil dip stick with the car. So, what you have to do is put in 7 quarts of oil, start the car to get the oil where it needs to be and then turn off the engine and let it set for about 10 minutes. Then you can finally check the oil level and see how much more you may need to add. But, I find that adding 7 quarts of oil puts it at the high mark on the display.

Both. The vacuum tube is located in the oil fill hole. The oil filter is accessed from above. It is by far the easiest car I have ever done an oil change on. You do need to buy a vacuum pump, which cost about $100.00 give or take on eBay. I bought the Mity-Vac MV7201. Works great. Don't need to lift the car, just pop the hood. If anything, a Jaguar oil change should cost less than a normal oil change that requires synthetic oil.
Yes there is a drain plug if you really want to do it that way, but you have to remove the undercarriage flat pans.

dwc412: very nice looking automobile. Of course, the XJL can't be beat.
I've had mine for 2 years now and you're right, you will get many, many looks while driving this automobile.
One recommendation to offer: please keep your automobile clean. I'm too old to do mine but I have a young man down the street wash and wax it. Mine is kept in the garage and when I back it out for a drive, I get the dust off before pulling into the street.
Again, welcome to the world of Jaguar XJL ownership.
