I've read that the P219A/B codes were air fuel ratio imbalance, which would make sense. It seems that's P219A/B and the overspeeds are P0219A/B.

If it's an engine overspeed...nothing has been done to the car at all except the sport cats and it's come on under very low speed city driving, not during heavy pulls or highway speeds.

Unfortunately, I can't find out for a little while. The shop I brought it to said my OBDII reader blanked my key..........which seems a bit bullshit considering I drive all the time with the OBDII and the key was perfect when I brought it to the shop but now doesn't recognize the key.

I'll keep updating on this though, hopefully anything I find can help others with everything.

Bone stock. Shop said they ran tests and found nothing causing the coding other than my car "not agreeing" with the cats. I'll take it to a friend and maybe have him swap out the O2 sensors or try to poke around a little more thoroughly.

"Not Agreeing" with the cats doesn't seem right to me at all. I have been manufacturing sport cats for all sorts of cars since 2007. I have seen plenty of P0420 or P0430 for cat efficiency, even some P0153 or P0133 for primary O2 response rates or heated circuits, but have never seen these codes before.

It isn't a 'stuck rich' or 'stuck lean' code, or a cat efficiency or response rate code. The fact that these cats are on Johncy's car with zero issues (as well as on several other JLR platform cars) points me at an install issue. I would check for exhaust leaks, and I would check to make sure that the O2 sensors are all hooked up correctly, were not contaminated during the install, and check all the connections at the plugs.

I am getting P0420 and P0430 every 50 miles or so. I have a Bosch Scan Tool to erase the codes but i don't want to keep having to do this. The solution is get O2 Simulators. Since the clearance is so tight where the sensors are, you will need an angled L shape O2 Sim. I know where to get these but was wondering if you would be able to provide some Stuart. Thanks

What you should do is get a tune for your car if it has high flow cats in order to dial in the fuel mixture and compensate for the extra flow.

I can find some for you, but we can also send you a hand-held programmer and write a tune to switch off the P0420 and P0430:

The car currently has a flash on it. I don't want to erase that file. If you can supply me with L shaped O2 sims that would be awesome!

Agree with everything said above. I think it's an install/O2 sensor mix and will have my closest friends auto shop take a thorough look over it. Unfortunately he's out of town but I was planning a long week away and it just so happens the timing is right. I have my full faith in him.

I'd love to get a tune on the car, it's the next step. Should make the car run really nice once everything gets dialed in.

Not something we have ever supplied before, I can have a look around and see what we can offer.

Default Let me jump in

I too have a VeloictyAP exhaust, high flow cats. I have NOT been able to get the codes to go away.... (Stuart and I are working on it...)

I also added the O2 simulators, (angled) to no avail. O2 Simulator, Angled O2 Simulator clears p0420 / p0430 check engine light Simulator Angled Big Daddies Garage
The codes are always thrown after the second run cycle.
The O2 simulator took away the P0430 and P0420 codes, I do not get those anymore...

I do not have the car with me right now to list all the codes I still do get.
The ones I remember are:
P219A, Mixture control. bank 1 - value out of range
P0139, O2 circuit
P2096, Post catalyst fuel trim, Bank 1
P2098, Post catalyst fuel trim, bank 2

all having to do with the rear Lambda sensor I presume...

I have also considered this. How to make a Ford MIL Eliminator

Hi Tom,

I knew you had the cat efficiency codes from the first tune last summer, did you test any of the latest files Chris sent?

The other ones I wasn't aware of.

I'm going to buy the Big Daddy Garage Simulators. The only codes I'm getting are the p0420 and p0430 codes.

Wait Johncy...
I'm going to take mine OFF. (the simulators) Before I put them on the only codes I got were P0420 and P0430. Now that I have them on I get multiple codes....just wait a few days.
I will report codes with and without. I know for a fact they do not do any better. I think my tuner (VeloicityAP) can get me cleaned up and MIL light off. I messed things up by adding the simulators and not communicating with Stuart.

Give me a few days to try all the options before you spend the time and money....

CRAP I bought them already. Might just have my tuner deactivate the secondary o2s.

I have a set of cats on order from Stuart and after researching I found that, I think, I really need an extender and not simulator as it moves the O2 sensor out of the exhaust direct stream, but they still get a diluted real reading. So found a right angle adapter and O2 adapter isolator on Amazon for @ $32 for both sides also added an extender section just for options and made sure all were stainless steel . They are marketed by Auto Dynasty on Amazon. I'll post on the thread when all is installed and running.

Wouldn't having a tune keep the car from getting the air mixture imbalance codes?

I have a pair of o2 simulators made by Z1 Motorsports for my 370Z. If I install the right angle sims along with my straight o2 sims, you think that will take care of the problem?

Just installed my o2 sims and now I'm getting bank 1 too lean. I really wasn't expecting this so now I am in a pickle. I was looking forward to having these cats on my car but this whole check engine light problem has me flustered. Wish there was more help.
