Water in Fuel indication on 2010 XJL
Hi all,
I had a water in Fuel indication warning light come on just 600 miles after a major service at the main dealers. took it back and they wanted a £99 diagnostic fee for what to me was either a fuel filter or sensor issue.
Anyway my son-in-law who was a VW mechanic and now running his own place specialising in VAG vehicles looked at it and Autodata straight away reported that there is a issue with the earlier fuel sensors, Recommendation was to replace the senor which he did with a part from Jaguar at a cost of £25.
Bit disappointed that the front desk service staff a the dealers just want to make money with various tests, but then they are not mechanics!
Just thought it is worth a post in case anyone else has the same problem and it is a very easy job, but be aware that the indication needs resetting after the replacement.
