Yes, I had that cable, and my receptacle did not fit in my grille at all. Two techs tried.

After seeing them recommended in the F-Type forum, I approached GuardianDesigns to recover the steering wheel on my 2016 XJR. It has split red seats and red stitching to all the leather trims, and I wanted the wheel to match. I opted for perforated leather on the outside and flat on the inside. All the trims except the airbag cover were recovered. (If you wanted the airbar cover changed they can do that, but you need to remove and replace the detonator and bag yourself.)

I'm really pleased with the result!

Man that looks good! I need to check into that.
I wonder if they can do a flat bottomed wheel?
Should have been factory for the top of the line Jag too!

Thanks much for that!
WOW! $900 used.

Just an update but it does not look like I can swap to a flat bottomed wheel as the connections and buttons are too different. Now I did find he can rebuild my steering wheel and even make it flat bottomed but not if it is a heated wheel which my XJ has. But still Xdaves wheel is just top notch and I hope to get mine redone very similar to his except I have the London Tan and black interior.
Oh another mod in the future! At least it's pretty simple to swap a steering wheel.

I have the CF interior trim and would like to add that to the steering wheel spokes. Don't know if he can do that or not. I did see he can CF the rim but don't think I will go that way.

I got new lower ball joints pressed into my front wheel knuckles yesterday. I was able to determine that they're Lemforder 3764401. The cheapest I could find them was on a website I've never heard of called Trodo. Shipped from Latvia, they arrived within a week.

Today I replaced my brake vacuum pump gasket. I had a hard time identifying where the oil smell after shutdown was coming from, and had no visible leaks. I traced it back to the interface for the vacuum pump (originally was worried the oil pan was leaking, but looks to be just the blowby from the leaky pump).

I replaced the pump gasket ($17 at the dealer) and I am leak free. Happy as a clam.

Replaced the differential oil and did a brake flush while installing my summer wheels and tires. Next is to do some paint correction / ceramic coating to get the paint 10/10, and then to tune the car. I want 650hp.

I did the VAP lower pulley and tune back in January. According to VAP, Supposed to come in at 645HP. I'd say it does. Holy Smokes. She's a Beast! Highly recommend!!

I was debating between doing one or both of the pulleys...to go both is just a little more. Detrimental effects? Why do most just do the crank?

First, I am no expert , and many others here have much more experience and knowledge to answer your question with specifics. However, in my research prior to the upgrade, I found many posts stating 1. the difference to do both is negligable, and 2. I recall some people having heat issues when doing both. Being in So Cal, we can get some seriously hot days so I wanted to avoid that at all cost.

Talk to whoever is providing your tune FIRST!

I have the VAP tune and Chris recommended that I stay with the lower pulley unless I wanted to go to colder copper core plugs. That also means plug changes every 20K-30K miles. As you know it's not real easy or quick changing plugs on these cars!

I upgraded my IC and IC pump so that may help prevent heat soak but it's way more difficult to install the upper pulley and your going in the wrong direction as far as belt wrap is concerned. The larger lower pulley improves belt wrap and reduces the chances of belt slippage. The smaller upper pulley gives you less and less belt wrap and your making the SC harder to turn at the same time. I also live in a hot area which further increases the chances of heat soak. So for now I am holding off on the upper pulley and have been very happy with the tune and lower pulley combo.

I am thinking of porting the SC when I remove it for maintenance in the future but again this seems to be a small gain for a good amount of money. Right now I am really interested in Meth injection as the guys on the F-Type forum (The Rock88) have done it with very good results. Lowering the intake temperature is the real key to these cars. When it's in the 30's around here I can't keep the tires from spinning just so much power!

Take a look at his mods they are very well documented.

TheRock88 DIY List

It would be great to see an XJ with Meth injection running around!

Thanks for the feedback, I am in Ottawa, Canada so hot temperatures are not usually a problem here...but will probably stick with the lower pulley for now just for ease of maintenance with the plugs if anything...

Yesterday, I put the battery charger on the XJ, for a couple of hours. I'd really like to to put the car back on the road, because we've had some rain, to wash the road salt away. HOWEVER, even though the temperatures were in the high 60s, we're supposed to get a substantial amount of snow, later today and into tomorrow, and if that happens, the roads might get salted again....Crazy, I tell you!!

Leadfoot4; I share your pain. There just been in news that 110 000 tons of salt are spread on the roads here in Finland every year.
I understand that heavy vehicles are in trouble without it, but seen many times the salt dispencer spreading it on dry and clean surface. (obiosly they earn by km...)
Been driving XJ thru 3rd winter now. I rinse it by water about twice of week if temperature are not much under freezing point. Good wax helps to keep it clean.

They are all over EBay. All Jags use the same mirror indicator too.
