Hopefully since you have the supercharged model you have added the lower pulley and VAP tune?
Best bang for the buck of any performance mod I have ever made to any of my cars. So simple to install. I have had both for almost 2 years and have had zero problems plus better gas mileage too!

Thinking of adding the Jaguar puddle lights but have not decided if that's rinky dink or if it looks OK?

Yeah, I did all the performance mods a few years ago, except for 200 cell cats.

I had those leaper puddle lights. They were ok, not very bright, and they started to flicker so I sent them back for a refund.

 

This wasn't done "today", but I feel it's worth mentioning. The X351 didn't get dedicated daytime running lamps in the USA until maybe 2016MY. If you have an earlier car, I urge you to consider equipping yours with some. So many vehicles have them nowadays that cars without them are almost invisible. Even big sedans!

.I found it helpful to Dremel the mounting surface to insure a secure, vibration-free fit.




The finished result looks almost OEM, and mounting the lamps here provides plenty of physical distance from the turn signal. DRLs as part of the headlamp assembly often reduce the visibility of turn signals.
You may think it's impossible to not see a car as large as the XJ, but it's not!

Ignore the wire colors on my owners manual addendum; they're there only to troubleshoot if necessary. The relay and 3A fuse are part of the Hella kit. I used Jaguar fuse 33 as power. It is hot with ignition. The inhibit wire is tied to the headlamp feed; I think it is pink/yellow; you should be able to figure it out.
The DRLs are On at all times when ignition is on, except when the headlamps are on. OEM wiring is a little more sophisticated, but this suits my purpose just fine.

 

I replaced the transmission mount yesterday. Old one lasted nearly 30k and was completely torn. I had replaced it not long after I first bought the car. Too many hard launches, I guess.

 

What were your symptoms? Mines at 50K and has many hard launches so it may be shot at this point but the car seems just a smooth as ever?

Downshifts on deceleration were choppy and clunky. If I were coasting on the freeway at speed and I pressed the gas, the car would jerk a bit. And increased idle vibrations. All smooth now.

 

Thanks I will be aware of that from now on. At 50K miles I expect some repairs like this.

I recalibrated my suspension with my Autel 906BT. This helps big time but I think I still have some minor variance of a few mm in the front. I will have to evaluate my suspension components in the near future. 66k chassis miles.

It also is pulling open shorts from each door module after replacing the turn signals with the LED ones. Interesting, I think it might be a false positive.

Lastly, I hardly have anyone in the back seat these days, but I noticed I couldn't communicate with the rear floor console module for HVAC. I checked F7 in the rear but it looked to be intact. I didn't test the ground/power wires as there is almost no way they are damaged, but inspected them anyway. Ordered a new used part from eBAY and will report back.

 

Are you, by chance, referring to the LED "strobe" lights for the outside mirrors?

 

Yes, the dynamic turn signals are what I am referring to. Both LEDs may be just failing at the same rate, but time will tell.

 

Installed Mina intake tubes. Supercharger is a little more noticeable, happy with that result.

Booked the car in for spark plugs and full paint correction / ceramic coat.

VAP Stage II tune and lower pulley incoming in the mail.

Going to be a fun summer with the Jag.

 

Not to belabor the point, but just for the sake of clarification....are you saying that the dynamic lights are failing on their own, as a separate issue, or you saying that they're creating issues for the car?

They work fine. I'm pulling U module codes for open shorts in the turn signal devices - the turn signals are controlled by both door modules. They work just fine. Outside of some kind of arcing activity from bad connector, I don't think they could impact the car in any possible way. I realize the code description is a bit of an electrical misnomer. I don't see any diodes damaged or visibly impacted, so I'm not sure if this is erroneous or not.

When I installed them I did not have these codes. There's no dash lights, just this issue coming up when I run scans. I imagine there is a failure contributing to out of spec values to be returned to the module. If it gets worse, the devices will fail short. Open failure would be pretty obvious.

Also, I replaced my rear floor AC control module and things are back to normal back there, passengers can control their own fate again, all for a $40 used panel.

I need to be more patient......I read the post about the LED license plate lights adding to the clarity for the buck-up camera, so I immediately thought, "I should get a pair of them", and promptly ordered two of the. Shortly after they arrived, I noticed two issues. First, I didn't read the E-Bay ad for them closely enough, which explained that they are packaged as a "pair", in other words, 2 lamps. I ordered two, so I received 4 lamps. I went to install them, yesterday, and found that our XJ came from the factory with what appears to be LED lamps already in place.


I now have 2 pairs of "spare" lamps, in case the OE lamps ever burn out...............

 

Changed the oil on the 2012 N/A (Motul specific JLR 51.5122), swapped out the air filters, replaced the seat filters and the cabin filter.

All done in 30mins.

Are you sure the stock license plate lights are LED? When I changed mine it was a very noticeable difference.
Yes they are both sealed units but I think the aftermarket ones are much brighter.

My stock licence plate lights were definitely not LEDs. That may have changed in later years.
