All bushings in the front end look and feel good. But here's something odd...I got a tyre pressure warning on the front passenger side yesterday, so I fill up both fronts to 32psi cold and the rears to 30 psi cold. And the clunk has disappeared.
Speaking of clunks, I had my sway bar bushings replaced this morning. I updated to the XJR front sway bar, and at the same time decided to pick up new bushings. My intermittent clunk is gone so far. Last month the dealer replaced my upper control arms under warranty and the clunk was still there. I was underneath with a small pry bar and at that time my bushings looked fine. My lower control arm/banana arm bushings looked suspect too but I wanted to do this first. My banana arms have no play yet.
I started noticing a puddle in front of the car recently. At first I thought it was condensation runoff from the HVAC system, but then I noticed last week it was leaving a white residue behind. Turns out it was washer fluid, during my sway bar install I found my headlamp washer c2d21521 is leaking. What a dumb part to fail, costs $220 wholesale. I might get it fixed next month but what a waste of good resources, I’d rather grab a nice dinner
For those that wish to know the XJR front sway bar is about 31.5 mm in OD. The original was 30 mm. The powerflex bushings seem to make a bigger difference. My front end clunk is gone over repeatable uneven surfaces. The bushings didn’t even look bad though you could tell by moving them around the sway bar there was a bit of play. Here is a photo.

Reason: Edit
Cool, best of luck. They come in pairs, so you just need to order 1, and it comes with a bit of copper grease. I tried to install myself but was unable to. I only have ramps at the moment (in process of getting my own space) and this was a wheels off job to slide the bar out without needing alignment. Took 30 min.
Thankfully you don't have to fully remove the bar if you're just replacing the bushings. In fact, if you pull out the air snorkels and filter assemblies, you could probably get the job done from above with some extensions and swivel sockets.
I finally installed those Powerflex bushings on Saturday. There's a nice increase in stability on both straightaways and corners. They do make a little bit of noise when going slow over certain types of bumps but nothing you would hear with the radio on. Well pleased so far. Thanks for the tip, dmchao.
I've got some new wheels arriving on Thursday...very excited.
Edit: The bushing noise seems to be getting louder.
Yesterday, I went back to the Powerflex sway bar bushings I installed last week. I wrapped the bar in telfon tape and put a ton of marine grease on the inside of the bushings. No more noise! I also replaced the endlinks while I was in there. No more noise or clunks.
I also got some new wheels installed. They're not forged but they are considerably lighter than OEM. I could immediately feel the difference in ride quality and handling. Now I'm thinking about 2 piece rotors...

I'm told the correct grease for poly bushings is silicone, or dielectric grease. Not marine.
Silicone seems to be what's provided most of the time but my research showed that when people had noise that wouldn't go away, they used marine grease and that took care of it.
Yes I started adding Teflon tape with the grease to fight squeaking problems too. Really seemed to help as it looked like the grease gets squeezed out over time but the tape stays put.
I have seen people drill and add grease zerks to the sway bar bushing brackets. Don't know how well that works but I was going to do that as the next step until the Teflon tape fixed the noise.

Well not really anything to jump up and down about, but i was pleased to finally have my windshield screen, its still Summer Downunder and bloody warm too.
Heres an interesting fact, i called the Barbagallo Jaguar dealership parts dept in my state capital city, and could not believe it when i was told that these are unavailable in Australia and i would have to source and import from O/S. lmfao, seriously mate its 38c and you cant get genuine windshield screens lol.
So anyway was reduced to purchasing for $165 landed from the bay.
Well it comes with its own sleeping bag, and kind of looks reasonably made, compared with a piece of chrome plated plastic bubble wrap.
