White XJ?

White XJ?
Hello,
I think I have made a decision to go for the XJ over the XF.
Now, the question is the color. I have narrowed down to three color choice: White, Black or Lunar Gray.
My heart tells me I love the look of White, but my wife tells me that White is too flash and feminine and that I would be too self-conscious to drive it everyday.
Any experience with White XJ? It looks stunning, but I have never owned a large luxury sedan in White (always gray or black). I wonder if I would be uncomfortable driving it to meetings.

White too feminine, I think not ! I had a white XJ6 once, and this colour was once very popular but declined in the 90s. I am please to see it back as an XJ6 in white looks really good. Remember you'll be in a black car soon enough. Apart from looking good, white cars also stay cooler when parked up in the sun. The modern whites are also metallic, I think.

eunsulover,
That's a very vital decision. If the car isn't going to keep you elated, what's the point of buying it. You don't want to say to yourself, "I wish, I had" every morning it welcomes you. And, more importantly, who cares what people think?
I say go for the white one, as it seems your heart is set on that.

In my opinion white is a really good sporty color for a Jaguar. I've even seen white on other luxury car makes, like Aston-Martin and Bugatti. Especially when paired with black trimmed wheels white looks great and classy.
Not a feminine color at all.
Do what your heart is telling you to do -- you'll be much happier.

I love white for the XJL. When we were shopping for the XJL, I saw a couple of white ones with fancy chromed wheels and Ivory interiors and the cars looked like porcelain jewels.
What is with the wives anyways? Mine voted it down too and I still think it was fantastic looking. We finally got a Cashmere one which is quite understated and beautiful but, the white was more stunning, I think.
Get the white one and a win for Tarzan
As to the XJL vs. XF now we have both as we just purchased a black XF with Ivory last Thursday. With the same 5.0 drive train the XJL is the undisputed luxury champion but, the XF is the true sport sedan.

I would have bought a white one over the black one I have, if it had been available. I'm not sure I like the piano black pillars in the back as much with the white. I think black is stunning for the XJ, but I have owned a few black cars and keeping them clean gets tiring. IMHO, silver is the most practical for keeping clean and looks. Then again, I have owned too many silver cars!
Lunar gray is a favorite color of mine for cars, but I think the XJ looks better in white or black then gray.
Polaris white and ebony are the two non metallic colors in the line, I think.

I have a white XJLSC, and you would not believe all the compliments I get on it. On a DAILY basis, it literally turns heads while driving down the road. People slow down, point, take pictures of it with their cell phones while driving. It has the best roadside presence I've seen in ANY automobile. While color is a personal preference, I don't think you will go wrong getting the white one.

For you I would go with black or white(for XJL). I lean mostly toward black because of the black C pillar. Enjoy!

I have a 2012 xjl in Midnight Black. Fantastic color. In bright sunlight it has a hint of dark metallic blue and on cloudy days its all black. Like having 2 different colors. I love it. The color must have been dropped from the lineup I don't see it hardly at all and it's not offered for 2013. Some have said its the same as ultimate black- but it's totally different and has a different paint code. Anyone else have thoughts on this color? Also it nicely hides the black on the c pillars. Blends right in

Midnight black was a temporary color that replaced Ultimate Black in 2012 due to a shortage of Xirallic caused by the japanese tsunami. Xirallic is used in many metallic paints by most auto manufacturers. Midnight black was not available in 2011, just 2012.

I had heard about the shortage. However when I purchased my 2012 on dec 26 2011. I remember I had my choice of many 2012s in ebony and ultimate black in addition to midnight black. ??? I believe this shortage affected azurite blue and indigo blue for 2013. Midnight black is metallic. So I'm not sure this is absolutely correct.
