Default Wind noise

Just took delivery of a 2011 XJL. 30k mileage.

Loving every minute of it. But can't help but detect a wind noise coming from the passenger side at speed over 60mph. Can't decide if it is the passender window or the sunroof.

Anyone have something similar and any solution?

Thank You in advance.

I have a 2011 XJL with similar mileage, but no wind noise issues. Good luck resolving yours.

No noise on mine. Has the car maybe had a new screen fitted at some time and possibly not fitted very well ?

Very good point you make. I had a Cadillac that would make a wind noise around the windshield/windscreen at over sixty miles per hour. This was due due to the differing coefficients of thermal expansion/contraction of glass (windshield/screen), the rubber gasket that holds it in place, and the auto body itself, which in the case of the Cadillac was steel. To correct the problem they had to remove and re-install the windshield/screen. Since the Jaguar has an aluminum body, the differences in expansion/contraction between the body and the glass becomes even greater (about four two one).

I have a 2011 XJL with the same problem and at first I thought it was coming from one of the doors sills but the other day I heard it again and put my ear up to the sunroof and it was coming from there. They were trying to fix the roof issue so I assume it as something to do with the adjustment they did.

Expat: Thank You. I might also be taking it in next week and will update you as well.

BTW, how did you drive and try to locate it from the sunroof? Tried doing it and almost went up the kerb!

Well the first time I was driving to Dusseldorf Germany and I was going about 150mph and I heard it because I had the music down and I was like WTF and thought it was coming from a window or door seal. But the next time it was driving normal speed and I heard it and put my ear up to the sunroof and I could hear the air coming from it. BTW I have an American spec Jaguar as I am an American living abroad.
