window condensation
Hi, My front window has condensation on it. When defrost switched on it has gone but with auto mode it slowly comes again.
I checked service manual and found the "Evaporator drain pan" at the bottom of the climate/heater assembly but how can I clean it or remove any blocking material (dust, leaf, etc...).
Thanks for any advise - if there is any...

Hi, Thx for the response.
As this is winter I can not check it out correctly now but there was no water underneath in the September to November time. Also in the last few month there was moisture on the windshield when the car was starting - after a minute it has gone every time.
So how can I clean the drain out?

Try this:
- Close all dashboard vents.
- Start engine.
- Set Climate Control manually to AC ON, temperature to coldest setting, and recirculate inside air.
- With the car parked and the engine running, use the manual fan speed controller to vary the fan speed between the fastest and slowest speeds. Repeat this for at least 5 minutes.
- Stop engine, exit car and look under the engine for a puddle of water.
- If there's no puddle and you have repeated the process several times, you may have to see the dealer.

Hi all, - 1st of all: thanks for the advises...
Step-by-step:
unfortunately there is no dealership in my area, at least 3 hours drive, and I had not so good experience with them...
I had cleaned the drains in my previous cars, but there is no one available on this however it should (may be it is in the top of the heat-child in the top of the transmission - so it can not be accessible...)
- yes I also thought it is common problem and easy solution / process, but as this thread shows it is not...
AC checked, pressure is OK, works correctly.
Actually I was surprised about the service manual that shows nothing about this problem.

Not on the XJ? I have looked and even had my car on the lift while running. All I can see is water dripping out and around the under-body shielding.
I also have cleaned condensate drains using an air hose before but there does not seem to be a hose where you can get access to it.
At least I have not found one yet and so far I can't find anything in the shop manual although I bet it's in there somewhere.
