X351 2012 XJL Best choice of new headlamp bulbs
I need to change my headlamps on my 2012 XJL. The y are the original and night time driving is not the best. My question to you all is what is the best bulb to replace with that will help with better night time visability?
I watched a video where a person that owned a 2011 XJ used Mars Auto 600K HID.
Looking for advice on your success with headlamp bulbs.

Ohhh.. 2012 and you have original headlight bulbs? They must be like candles now.
Since it is quite big operation to change headlight bulbs i would only use good brand, because you don´t want to repeat the job in just few weeks. Its bit a task in first time, but for next time its not so bad when you know where to look for screws. (you need to jack front up, but not nessesary to remove wheels. Just turn them away while working each side to remove bumber cover.
I have been changed bulbs few times on my 2010 and i used these:
https://www.osram.com/ecat/XENARC%20...4/ZMP_4063569/
Every time i have been changed bulbs there have been big differense on lights. For next time i need to clean the lenses inside too somehow. (not sure if the projector pack will come out thru service lid of the light assembly? Have anybody done this?)

The taking apart is not a worry as I had to do some work on the inner fender liners and saw the screws plus I watched a video that was very clear on what to do. However, you are right, dont want to go back in within a month.
Thank you for the information. I used Osram on my Town Car and they were very good lamps. Lot easier to remove those lamps.
I just looked them up on Amazon and oh boy, $199 for 1 bulb, does that sound right?

Good point - over time they do get a cloudy residue inside for some reason. That reduces brightness too, probably as much as an aging bulb.
I use forceps to hold a cloth that'll fit in there to wipe it off.
