Does anyone know the production numbers for the Ultimate and their worldwide distribution? My research tells me that USA received 30 but I am unable to find any other info. According to my local agent in South Africa, they were only on special order here and less than 5 came.
I am asking purely out of interest. My beast pictured below.
Where does the Ultimate fit in the XJ product line? I know the XJR came out in 2014 and up. Before that they had the Super Sport as the top model. The Ultimate is above the Super Sport?

The Ultimate was a limited edition introduced in 2012 as a 2013 model and only for one year apparently. It is very plush for the rear passengers with individual seats and champagne chiller and the rest (almost a mini bar). Being a limited edition, I guess it does not really fit into the product line as such and the Autobiography followed on as the top model with fewer but more modern features.
The Ultimate had a higher spec audio system plus extra gadgets like iPads as well as the headrest screens but everything in the cabin from the front seats forward is pretty standard XJ. According to the blurb, the rear suspension is more comfort orientated but I have not noticed anything different in the ride compared to my previous XJ which was a 2013 Portfolio.
All the interesting stuff happens in the rear seating area so it is a bit wasted but it is a beautiful car to drive anyway. The kids have flown the coop so the only time the fancy gadgets and things gets used is when I am showing it off.
Apart from a couple of small Ultimate badges, there is very little on the exterior to hint at what to expect from the interior but when the doors open, even the anti Jag crowd ooh and aah.

Excellent post and your comment about the rear was amusing...
Hi gt40,
Sorry to bump your thread, I am a new member and I would like everybody's help, especially fellow XJ Ultimate owners.
I am also currently interested in a Jaguar XJ Ultimate from 2013, I wonder if you could help me with a few queries that I have regarding this masterpiece.
The jaguar brochure from 2013 for the Ultimate mentions two wireless keyboards included along with the ipads. Do they charge along with the ipads? How do they remain connected?
Also, if you were the original owner, you may be able to help me with this...
Did the Jaguar dealer include the ipad accessories i.e. the Apple charger, and Apple owners manuals, and box etc., during the delivery of the car?
I inquired about one particular car and the used car dealer said that no keyboard was there in the car. As a result, I am a bit confused.
Apologies for sounding a bit daft but I am curious about the Xj Ultimate and want to now quite a bit about it, I am a bit of a perfectionist and would like to have everything that was included when the car was new to keep it as a collector's piece.
Beautiful car by the way!

Greetings from Ireland.
Thanks.
Unfortunately mine did not come with the keyboards or any of the Apple extras. I have been looking around for the accessories but not trying too hard - I am not an Apple fan so dont even know where to start.
There is one up on the auction block at Bring-a-Trailer today, looks nice but some fool replaced the factory wheels with some fake black wagon wheels and threw the originals away.
The listing states that 30 were made for the US market.

Thanks for letting me know. Hopefully, some other fellow Ultimate owner can chime in and let me know.
To add some more info to this thread in case anyone else is interested in production numbers for the Ultimate. The website below shows 11 have been on the UK register and my other research says that 30 went to the USA. Unfortunately I have not found anything on other countries apart from the 3 that came to SA so there a few more scattered around the world but who knows what the numbers are. I hope this thread will be updated by others if more info comes to light.
Yes that auction listing car has the factory FORGED rims replaced with after market 22" stuff and added the leaper on the hood. So the car has been messed with a bit. Not many factory Jaguar rims are forged so they are expensive.

Just FYI, that BAT car is still available. Even with modifications it's still a chance to acquire most of what you might want. I'd argue overpriced, but eventually the dealer will get the message.
