I used to like the old Jag look (ie S-type, X-type), then Hyundai ripped off the look with their Sonata. It was hard to look at that style the same again.

Now that those Sonatas are going away, I’m finding myself partial to the older Jag styling again.

Same here with Aston Martin and Ford. Hard for me to look at a Vantage anymore.

When I sold my XJ8L the guy said he's going to move to Seattle. Hah!

I've noticed the new Lincoln sedans look a lot like the XJ in the front fascia...from a distance. Sometimes I got fooled too.

I'm afraid the Jaguar reputation for unreliability has firmly entered folklore and become urban legend. There's simply no way around it.

I thought my X308 XJR was the best looking Jag ever made, and I got a lot of compliments and questions. The X351 gets even more compliments though. I think it looks gorgeous, although I'd admit it's best in dark colours. Both the X308 and X351 were metallic black.

Unlike the X308, I've got a truly comfortable driving position, without banging my head on the ceiling, and an average person can sit behind me.

Agreed. The X351 looks much better in dark colors.

All of my previous cars have been black ("88," and "92" Lincoln Town Cars, "98" Lincoln Mark VIII and "05" XJ8L). I've got to admit, I wanted a gray (I think Lincoln or GM call it "Rocky Mountain Grey" on their vehicles); however, when the sunlight hits this "Indus Silver" on my XJL Portfolio, and it sparkles, people, I got to admit, I love it (hard for me to believe I'm saying that about other than a dark colored vehicle). The compliments I receive (at least one a week) indicates others like it as well.

Yeah, that silver is very sharp. My old X350 was slate gray and to my eye, had hints of purple in it depending on the light. It had chrome wheels and the fluted European style VDP grille and boot plynth and the sparkly mesh upper and lower grille inserts. Very elegant and stately.

Well, with the X351 I wanted to go in the opposite direction. Dark stratus grey with the dark grey Mataiva wheels and blacked out grilles, but I left the fender vents, window trim, and rear strip all shiny. Throw on the front and rear spoiler and its got a great sinister look to it.

I have had 1 XJS and 4 XJ8's. People stop me all the time and tell me what a beautiful car it is. Bought a 2006 XK8 and hate it. Too small, rough ride and impossible to get in and out of. Just bought the 5th XJ8 2004 with 24k on it and it looks new. I will die with this car before getting rid of it. I believe this is the best Jag ever made. Just today while getting gas 2 people came up to me to see the car and both were very impressed and thought it was new.

Drive an X351 fast on a winding road, and then say that.

I think it works fine on the big body Jag. I would not put one an an XE or F-Type though.

I do my part to confront it whenever I hear it.
