XJR Boot / Trunk Keeps Opening
On today's list of strange things my 2014 XJR is doing... Every time I start the car, the boot opens up. No, I am not inadvertently pressing the key fob and I am not pressing the boot open button either. If I literally just start the car, a few seconds go by and it will automatically open up. The mechanism works just fine otherwise but this is such a strange problem that seems to be getting more frequent (before, it was just after the car was sitting over night, but now it's every time). How and why is this occurring?
Btw, I can lock the car just fine and I only have one key - so nothing is in the car or trunk that should be interfering that I know of.

The only thing I can try at the moment is disconnecting the battery and reconnecting - I'm not sure if both batteries need to be disconnected (The XJ looks like it has two in the boot?). As it probably has developed some sort of bug in the software. I will keep an update on things otherwise it has to go the dealer to figure out this weird gremlin.

Interesting problem for sure.
I had one occurrence where I was spraying the back of the car at the car wash and spraying the button caused the trunk to open. I am guessing it was either the pressure of the water on the button face or the high pressure moisture got into something. Might be worth a hard look at the button and surrounding area. Perhaps just disconnect that button to see if it makes a difference.
Does it happen again if you stop and immediately restart the car?
What is your battery reporting for standing voltage? for charging voltage while running?
