Good morning to all,
My name is Gianni, I write from Italy and I just bought a Jaguar xj12 of February 1979.
I know absolutely nothing of this wonder, but it had to be in my small collection.
I hope you can help me improve it mechanically and aesthetically
I got it from. Germany.
Aesthetically very valid
Motor turns, but.not part.
I don’t know how they are yet.
The backdrops seem compromised....
I found a hole in the driver’s floor...
The inner woods some are exfoliated.
On the whole, she still seems like a queen to save.
Your tips for will be very useful.
Especially what to do and check before trying to start the engine....
Air filters and containers are missing.
Thank you soon

Hi, it looks like you have a very late Series 2 XJ12. I'm pretty sure there is a dedicated forum for those as this is specific for the XJ12 from 1994 to 1997 (X305).
It looks like someone has hand varnished the wood trim. Would be worth re-doing or having professionally done. I used to have a Series 2, albiet the Daimler Double 6 Vanden Plas model. I personally think the Series 2 is more pure than the Series 3. Good luck with it and i hope you find some help.
My old Daimler D6 VDP, 1974.

Xj12 help
Hello.
May I ask for more advice...
After replacing the engine oil ,with my mechanic (little expert of v12 Jaguar),we tried to make it start...considering the years remained stationary.
The gas pump was jammed, and it wasn’t sending fuel to the injectors,
Once we unlocked the pump we turned the key and the 12 cylinders started immediately.
I previously put 10 liters from one tank and about 8 in the other.
The engine crackles and does not take turns...
Maybe the candles???
Or low fuel???
It was on the move for about 10 minutes and then it went off!
Having to move it I found 2 big problems
¹ the brakes on the 4 wheels are nailed
Question how can I unlock them? I absolutely have to remove it remained in the middle of a garage is from nuisance to the passage of other means
²
The automatic transmission does not give any signal
( I thought that by turning it on I could with the reverse gear or the other gears to move it)
I put the lever both forward and backward, but it doesn’t give any movement signals.
What could it be?
Oil checked, turns out to be free of impurities, but does not move.
Maybe you have a relay? A fuse?
I really need to move it and I have no solution.
Thanks for your help.
