Power Steering Lines - Custom

Power Steering Lines - Custom
I'm going to be tearing into my XJ12 this week to redo the suspension, brakes, cooling system, upper sandwich plate, etc. I'm also going to be having my power steering lines re-hosed while I'm in there.
I gather several other users were able to have their lines remade by hydraulic hose shops and I had a few questions:
1. I notice these alot of interesting bends in the metal lines. Were they able to reuse the original fittings and simply re-hose them or did it require custom bending all new lines?
2. Around how much should I be expecting to pay for a shop to custom make these lines?
Thank You!

The hose shop will reuse your old metal pipe fittings. The metal sections should be perfectly serviceable, with barbed ends and outside crimp. You could probably get it done for $50 per hose, or less. In contrast it would be very expensive to replicate those metal pipe sections. Be sure the shop explains the method they will use to re-hose your fittings. Don't be like me and trust the shop, only to find out they cut off the ends of the metal pigtails and welded on new, smaller barbed fittings. Dumb.
Do the oil cooler hoses! Hi-temp and hi-pressure hose only! The fittings at the oil cooler are quick-disconnects and the shop should/must be able to retain those for re-connection (the Jag shop I used had no idea of this).
Might as well do the transmission cooler rubber line sections too.
Let the fun begin!!
