Default Replacing fuel lines

Starting a new thread on fuel line replacement and safety for x305's so we can have a clear how-to. My nightmare is fixing something that currently isn't broken and then having a fire, so figuring out how to do it right and making the car safer is the obvious goal.
My previous V12 experience was with earlier versions and I've emailed www.mrinjectoruk.co.uk to find out which seal and filter kit they recommend for the x305. Has anyone already done this and can share the kit number? Steve at Mr Injector is asking me for the number stamped on injector body, he thinks it's 0280150??? I haven't cleaned my engine yet and don't see the numbers anywhere. for the the two top hoses and the hose by the throttle linkage there is already a useful thread with the napa part numbers and discussion of whether to hose clamp or not by sleekjag12 (thanks!!).

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-cover-211576/

a useful how to video for earlier V12's

G'day Oliver,

I replaced my fuel line seals and fuel filter not long after I got my car. The fuel filter was easy enough to track down but the seals were another matter.

The filter PN you will find here

https://parts.jaguarlandroverclassic.../brand/jaguar/

The PN for the seals is CBC4720 and they are hard to find. They are a Viton green square section ring and certainly don't look like a round section "O" ring.

I didn't go to the trouble of replacing any of the hoses and have had no trouble for over 10 years.

Cheers,
Jeff.

Default seals

Thx yes I saw that link. If I'm going to be brave and remove the fuel rail etc I'd like the whole kit and kaboodle - the filters, all seals rubber and metal etc so when it's back together I didn't miss anything...

The injector O-ring set, also at Motorcars Ltd right next to the pipe seals:

https://www.motorcarsltd.com/jaguar-...or-o-ring-kit/

oooooo
oooooo

I'm not ready to take all that stuff apart yet. But I probably "should" someday.

They also have a good deal on the pin-clips for the undertray, and for the genuine front upper shock bushings.

G’day Gents,

I took my fuel rail and injectors off a few years ago to have the injectors serviced and in the process one of the injector pintle caps came apart and most of it dropped into the inlet manifold. No problem I thought I’ll just remove the manifold and retrieve all the bits but to my horror the inlet valve was open and all the bits had dropped into the cylinder.

All sorts of horrible thoughts crossed my mind such as a complete head off fiasco to taking the spark plugs out and turning the engine over in the hope that the cap bits would blow out the hole. So I sat down and though about it for a while.

I could see the plastic bits, through the spark plug hole, lying on top of the piston.

I ended up taping a piece of plastic tubing to my workshop vacuum cleaner, as a small bore adapter, and poking around through the plug hole and pretty soon had sucked all the offending bits of plastic out and into the vacuum cleaner.

So if when you remove your fuel rail and this happens to you all is not lost.

Cheers,
Jeff.
