sump o rings, rotor removal questions
I'm going to be opening up the crypt shortly to replace the gaskets. I have a box of harborfreight Vitron o rings and a lot of rubber ones, anyone know anything about the o rings in the diagram above? Vitron generally lasts a really long time but interested to hear if I need to spend $$$ on better quality o rings?
Currently trying to get the rotors off which I've been soaking for days and hitting with a bfh and an air hammer with no success. I'm not missing some secret fastener somewhere am I? Haven't applied heat yet but it's time.
I was thinking of using c clamps on the caliper ears as a persuader next

Here's the o ring Jaguar part numbers. Your box of swap meet sizes is not going to work, these are all skinny square sided special sizes (ebc2291 is the only 'fat' o ring). The oil pump sucks oil from the pickup through ksh122116, oil is then pumped out through EBC2291 and up to the oil filter housing eac8102.
You have to use these specific seals as they fit into recesses that the tube is pushed through. As I've found out the wrong size o ring will just get pushed out to the back of the housings 4& 10 below.
The reason to replace the seals is to make sure oil pressure is good to the top of the engine - old o rings will allow some oil to just leak out back into the sump .

A word of caution: I bought two Jaguar brand (ie expensive) ksh122116 o rings while in UK. They are too small for the oil pickup tube seal. I wound up using the old one. They do work ok on the oil cooler lines where they are tensioned around the 'male' tube rather than fitting into a female recess groove.
