Warning lights -- battery
Morning Jag enthusiasts,
Daimler Double-Six 1998:
I'm having some issues with warning lights coming on the dash -- not a great surprise considering the age, etc.
The light bulb orange warning light is on 99% of the time I have lights on -- every once in a while it'll switch off, to my delight, then come back on on the next drive. (All the lights are actually working fine).
In the last few weeks the red coolant light comes on when I start the engine, then goes about 30-45 seconds after I start driving.
I wasn't too worried with the orange light bulb warning, but the red warning for the coolant had me more concerned.
The car can sometimes be idle for 7-10 days between trips.
I read some forum posts saying the warning lights may be related to the battery getting low? Seem valid?
Would you suggest I keep the battery charged while it's parked up?
Cheers,
Matt

Year of the car correct ?
A fully charged battery in this example will be 12 .77 volts dc
The voltage gauge on the instrument cluster is pretty accurate but not marked conveniently
There are special considerations when ensuring the V12 cooling system is serviced to the proper level that others would know more about

Sorry, its a 1997. Swiss car and was registered in 1998...
My dumb mistake, since the coolant was drained and refilled in August 2020, I incorrectly thought that wouldn't be the issue, but lo and behold, upon checking it is way below the "min" level and needs a refill.
The error is this case is now counter to that I originally thought -- now I'm wondering why the warning light was actually switching off when it should stay on ;-)
I've asked the garage what coolant they used before so I can refill with the same type, and am midly concerned if there might be a leak since the coolant reservoir is so empty.
Cheers,
Matt
