What coolant to use?
Further to a recent thread of mine, I need to fill my '97 Daimler Double-Six with coolant.
Long story short, my usual garage is closed for a couple of weeks summer holiday and I can't get hold of anyone to ask exactly what brand/type of coolant they used before.
What would you suggest?
My coolant warning light is on and levels are very low -- but it's quite frustrating not knowing what I should put in there...
I don't want to put in just anything as it will mix with the small volume of what is left in there already (newbie here, not skilled enough to drain myself)
Thanks as always,
Matt

There are a couple of Jaguar TSBs on the mater
JagRepair.com - Jaguar Repair Information Resource
From what I understand there is a mixing incompatibility between the different types
The major concern is the clogging of the cabin heat matrix or core
With what you have you can top off with the same to establish correct cooling performance
When I received mine it had the green antifreeze in it

See if you can top it off with a pint or two of distilled water. No harm in that. Then when the shop opens up you can find out which coolant to use, after they fix the leak that might be their fault. Does the invoice from last August specify the coolant type?
It holds a lot of coolant: 15 liters on drain and refill, 19 liters total capacity from dry.
Don't drive the car unless you can top it up and be sure it is not streaming out. Overheating is very dangerous to this engine.
