G’day Jags,

I have replaced my radiator from above and without removing the bonnet/hood. The empty radiator is not that heavy.
Remove the fan shroud and the radiator fan first and you’ll have plenty of room. The condenser is not an issue.

I repaired a small leak in a radiator once with a blob of JB weld and it lasted for years until I replaced that radiator when the plastic hose spigots started to disintegrate.

Cheers,
Jeff.

While we're on radiator discussions anyone know if a 6.0 V12 XJ40 has the same radiator as the x305? There's one in a yard near me, it seems to be raining 6.0 parts around here!

G'day Oliver,

They both look very similar on here https://parts.jaguarlandroverclassic...-jaguar-parts/ and the only difference in the relative part numbers is the suffix. Maybe a late model XJ40 radiator is suitable.

Cheers,
Jeff.

Check for the 3 wire temp switch on the lower aft left and grab the switch also

The radiator will need to have the hole for it

The drain valve sticking down must be on the right side at least for the inline 6 bottom chassis crossmember / pan

Got it, in very good condition, appears to be the same as the x305. I hadn't seen an xj40 v12 before. Car was in good shape but seized.

Now that you've got one you'll never need it but it looks like the right one! Well done

Cheers,
Jeff.
