x305 convertible
Hello again members,
First thanks for all the assistance that I have had so far from the club members. I have managed to sort out my VIN & learnt more about my Daimler Double six 1995. My dad had a Jag Mk 8 in the early sixties & my interest has carried on from then. My Daimler is my first Jag & I am over the moon with it, reminds of what driving is all about...enjoyment, freedom & pleasure. Anyway my topic is about conversions for a X300-305, i mean CONVERTABLE. Does anyone know if this can be done & perhaps where.
I saw a photo of a 1975 xj that had been converted & it looked stunning. I have tried to post some photos but when I try it throws up that download failed, tried many times.
Thanks & regards to all.
Harry

Built by Jaguar as a display shell only based on a 1996 X300 4.0 litre, it was eventually completed in 2007 by the highly respected marque specialist, David Marks, for JDHT.

I remember seeing the Corsica at JDHT when I was over getting the tour of Browns Lane back in 2001. I could not believe it! Then I was lucky to read about it getting finished but I have not been sure it actually was finished. Bravo to the David Marks crew for that one. A one off for sure. It's too bad it was not a production car. I think the lines on it are just fabulous. Imagine the 6.0 V12 in it rolling down the highway!

You can follow the story of the build and completion here:

I've seen some dubious Jaguar saloon conversions to convertibles over the years but the Corsica just looks absolutely right to my eyes. That's what happens when the manufacturer's special vehicles section is allowed to play.
Bentley did a similarly engineered approach when they took the Continental R Coupe and produced the Azure convertible. The only difference being their result went into production.
