Default Xj12 transmission mount

The transmission mount in my 1996 xj12 is failing but I cant seem to locate a replacement. My mechanic says it is no longer available so I am wondering if any of you know of anyone who has produced a replacement or an upgraded version. Mine is the coil spring type and I would like to know if there has ever been a rubber version , more like a standard type of trany mount. Any help would be appreciated. Thx j.

The bushing (#10 in the parts diagram) is a wear item, is widely available, and pretty easy to put in.

Which part, specifically, does he want to replace?

The most common wear-out part is the foam cushion, MMC7553AA, which is seemingly still available from various vendors, such as:

^ I concur with the above. Plus, I'd suggest replacing the spring (MNA7560AB) as well along with the rubber isolators (CCC3764). I replaced all of them when I first got my XJ12 and it helped alot. You can find a diagram with all the part numbers to the trans mount here.

Not sure why your mechanic says they're unavailable, theres A LOT of NLA parts on the X305, but the trans mount (luckily) isn't one of those.

Default Xxj12 trany mount

Its not just my mechanic, even the jagusr dealer told me they cant get the mount anymore. Only the spring, the foam rubber bushing and the spring seat are available. The mount is made up of 8 pieces and the other 5 are no longer available as ffffaar as I can see here in Canada.

Yeah, but do you NEED all 8 pieces?

What problem are you trying to repair here? Is the entire assembly missing or what?

Those don't need to be replaced at all. Its basically just the metal bracket and pieces that hold that all in. Those aren't wear items. You could easily get away with just the spring and the foam bushing.
