The $200 Jag went on a 400 mile road trip
After getting the tranny problem fixed with the help from everyone here with a new coil. I took it to LA for a photo shoot at the Beverly Hilton last night. It ran flawlessly. I have owned a lot of BMW sedans 740i's, 740il's, and one 750Li. I currently have a 2016 Range Rover and this Jaguar rides better than all of them. The seats feel soo amazing on a long drive. However, I'm not telling you something you don't already know. I might have to be on the lookout for a super 8. Anyway, all my parts have shown up, so time to get to work fixing all the little things. Oh by the way I got 25+ MPG overall, not too shabby. When I get all the paint correction work done I will do a photoshoot.
FYI on Cars and Bids, and Bring a Trailer my Handel is "perfectphoto" I have sold one XKR and two BMWs if you want to see any of my photography.

Nicely done and will look forward to some more photos.
I saw your XKR on C&B! In fact, it gave me hope that mine would be the next one up as I was getting ready to sell it that next month, but they declined to host it. Sad day. It was probably the mileage and 7 owners despite being triple-black and really clean.

I'm not really sure why C&B takes some cars and not others. They declined my 99 540i 6 speed, very nice car but high on miles. They don't give the reason why and they don't have a guideline for what they look for so you end up wasting time if they don't take it. If you can wait to sell a car Bring a Trailer is a much better platform.
I see you have the Coilover conversion on your XJ, what made you do that, and does it affect the ride? I have three British cars all with air suspension and I love the way they ride.

We all love the glamor shots on forums but I'm not so sure about online auctions. I guess even with the best of intentions, you can't be sure what the buyer is seeing on their own screen. After one particular car, I'm not even sure that my old laptop computer screen will show enough accuracy or detail to bid (I think its like 1300 x something). I went on a little road-trip to see a 67 Mustang that was supposed to be freshly repainted in the factory dark metallic green color (think Bullitt) but when I got there it didn't look right. Upon pressing the seller, he admitted that he'd taken some liberty with the original color and instructed his painter to use a larger metal flake than the factory spec to Make it Pop! he said. Burst my bubble anyway. Not that he was trying to scam anyone, just that to him and probably most people it wasn't a big deal but to me it was. I don't know how much camera or screen resolution, or how close up one would need to be able to determine the size of metal flake in a paint job, but I was kind of shocked that I hadn't seen the difference in the online photos. I'm glad I did not buy it sight-unseen (or even spend the time and money for air travel). I did many months later wind up winning a 68 Mustang on Ebaymotors, a local car that I was able to inspect thoroughly before bidding.

On the suspension, after sorting my third and final car for the year (well, third of four now as of a few weeks ago - and really done now - but that was for the mother-in-law that lives here), my budget was simply tapped before the holidays to spring for a new Arnott air setup or B4s. I have no regrets and love the ride really just about as much as I did before with the air struts, and could be happy with them permanently. But my other vehicles have (newer) air ride, so I get it, and I do plan to one day go with the B4 setup another year. And Sepang wheels. Hopefully this cat behaves itself so those remain options- it won't be a daily driver. After this month.

put used S-Type\XF coilovers in it, if you have an 05 there is no reason to go with anything else. fully functional good riding conversion for under $200 or $300 if you don't want to drill. the rest you can spend on arms and links lol
