Default '04 VDP Needs Torque Converter :-(

My car has been RPM searching when cold at low RPM's around 40+ MPH for some time and finally I thought it was time to get it fixed.

The Jaguar Dealer first reset the computers, cleaned the top half of the engine of carbon and both did absolutely nothing. Brought the car back and they determined what jaguarforums.com and what I thought was faulty; the torque converter.

Car has 58K on it and the job is costing around $2500.00 to repair. I bought an extended warranty with it and luckily it's covered! The dealer was gracious enough to lower their bill rate from $109 to $89 to cover the difference on what my warranty pays for shop rates. The part is out of stock, so I have to bring the car back in a week or too.

Did they try to coded reflash, that real_tech was suggesting? Re-setting computers somehow does not seem like the same thing.

Actually, they did the code reflash... I was being brief in my description of events. The reflash did nothing.

Dropped the car off at the dealer last night. They said originally that it would be finished today. I have a hard time thinking it will be and actually would rather have it done by Thursday as I have a dentist appointment today and on a really tight schedule if I am to pick it up tonight.

Walked through the "showroom", only 3 cars were in there. I brought my dog Camber and I am glad she didn't try to jump in the front seat of the showroom car when I opened the door to take a look. It would've been a little funny, but not if she left a mark on a new car... She's been kind to the leather so far; the fur... that is a different story.

The car is fixed; wow! They replaced the torque converter along with 4 quarts of tranny fluid and the car runs like a charm. They did the work in half a day and everything is good now. Finally!
