Premium (12-speaker) sound system. Sounds kinda dumb, but I just realized the sound from the woofer/tweeter pair in both front doors is nonexistent or very low. Sound is still coming out of the dash mid-ranges, back door speakers and sub-woofers. Using the electrical diagram in JTIS, it looks like the dash speakers are driven by the same output as the front door speakers, via a "pickoff" somewhere between the amp and the dash. I've physically traced four pairs (LF, RF, LR, RR) under the seat unto a channel in the driveline "hump". I removed the console and found the extra pairs going to the dash. From what I can tell, the pickoff, if that's what is happening, is somewhere under the carpet between the back seat and the rear of the console (of course).
Does anyone here have any experience with this? Am I looking in the right direction? If there is indeed just a pickoff (or tap, if you prefer) to supply sound to the front, I'll just make a new tap under the console, but I wanted to make sure that that is how it's really set up.
Thanks for any help. It took driving a rental Chrysler 300 and feeling the bass thump on my leg to realize that that wasn't happening in my XJ.

OK, kinda want to close this thread out. The upshot is that I spent the day with a tone generator (used for tracing wires in my telephony days) and pulling connectors (TL10, TL22 and TL31) and injecting tones into the speaker lines. I also got my 13-year old with her young ears to listen to the door speakers (tinnitis is an occupational hazard) while injecting tone in the connector coming directly off the amp in the trunk (TL10). Lo and behold, she can hear the tone fine in all speakers. Guess it's just me.
So, for anyone else with the Premium sound: do you actually hear audio coming out of the tweeter in the door handle area? Do the mid-bass speakers in the door put out enough sound to vibrate your leg?
Or is this audio system so well integrated that it blends that well?

I felt more bass coming out of the door speakers than the rear subs. I ended up replacing the rear subs and adding an amp. Have you increased the bass on the radio? The bass control increases for all door speakers and the subs. The sub control only adjusts the rear subs. I can feel the stock bass, but it's nothing to brag about. I keep the bass control about 1 or 2 bars passed the center and the sub around 3 or 4.
