04 XJ8 TPS issues
Ok so my daughters car. It threw the TPS code. I changed the TPS reconnected the battery and started her up. Idles about 1200, rotating the TPS doesn’t change the idle. Pressing the accelerator increases the rpm to about 1600 even when floored.
I am assuming that the TPS needs to be calibrated or the ECU needs to be reset. I have looked through forums and various online resources and nothing has worked.
Any help is appreciated. Unless someone local wants it I’d be willing to sell.
Thanks.

Don't know the resistances but according to the schematic you should have the following voltages at each end of the throttle control systems:-
At the TPS:
On the red wire - at idle 0.6V , at full throttle 4.3V
On the Yellow wire - at idle 1.48V, at full throttle 4.4V
At the accelerator pedal:
On the Black wire - foot off 0.75V, fully depressed 3.4V
On the Orange wire - foot off 3.38V, fully depressed 2.05V
If the TPS voltages are OK at idle but the throttle body not fully opening when you depress the accelerator, then you need to verify the accelerator pedal is sending the correct range voltages to the ECM (pins 102 and 103 of ECM plug).
TPS sends back its confirmation voltages to ECM pins 75 and 76.
Good luck

Since you have a TPS DTC I think that you should check that first.
I have an unused spare Denso TPS and checking the four pins it
appears that all the pins seem connected and show very low resistance readings
There has been a report on this forum that the purchaser
found one or both tracks inside were missing!
There is a procedure for setting a TPS
.
I would have taken a photo of the old one in position and fitted
the new one in the same place. That may have been good enough.
