Hey whats up everyone.

For the longest time I thought about painting my mesh grille black, but I couldn't figure out how it would look exactly. Well I went through with it, and its not that bad. A bit more aggressive. Here is a pic for anyone who also thought about doing it.

That looks the bomb! My X350 is black too. I've not gone with the mesh grille because I cannot find one in black. I like this a lot! I also have an extra set of bumper blades and have contemplated doing a set in black chrome

 

cincinnati- oh mann, if only you knew. I had the car at a local mechanics since the end of Feb. What was supposed to be a routine check up, turned into a engine rebuild. I only got the car back yesterday. The car's spark plugs, lifters, and timing chain were all changed. The AC compressor needed to be fixed. Tomorrow I'm taking it to a well known/ good mechanic, to clear the lights and check for any other problems that my local mechanic didn't pick up on. Right now its on restricted performance, which is pretty annoying. Other than that, Everything is fine, I am looking into getting a upper super charger pulley when everything is right. I will def be browsing the forums more often now that I got my car back.

Stevetech- I was actually thinking about blacking out the grille, and bumper blades when I was considering black rims. To go for that murdered out look, but then I realized that I would also need to black out the chrome around the windows and smoke the tail lights, and i wouldn't kno what to do with the leaper lol. But I appreciate that you like it also.

It doesnt matter how much you lighten the pic black is black.
Some people prefer black grilles there have been many discussions for and against them especially on the X Type forum here and the .co.uk site.
At the end of the day its your choice.
The wheels give contrast to the sides of the car but there isnt any contrast at the front that a chrome grille would give in my opinion.
Personally not my cup of tea but cant argue the rest of the car does looks fantastic and maybe the black grille looks better in the flesh

 

hahaa buckmr2, i thought you meant you couldn't actually see the grille because it was too dark.

I do see where you're coming from tho. I was actually against it at first, but decided ehh what the hell. I do appreciate your comments.

 

Looks a bit "mafia-ish" to me; (only kidding !!). I am not one for black, after all you're going to be in a black car eventually, aren't you ?

 

Looks good. I think that look will only work with black.

I think I will ask to be buried inside my Black Cat. There's even a seat for the wife, and room for the kids in the back!
