'04 XJR How to bleed the cooling system?
I've searched the forums and could not find how to bleed the cooling system on my '04 XJR. I have to replace the expansion tank on my '04 XJR since one of the plastic hose nipples cracked off...
The dealership installed screw type hose clamps next to the factory spring type hose clamps during one of the service visits - I've owned the car since new and no one has touched it except the dealer. It appears that the clamp was too tight causing the hose nipple to eventually crack and break. I'm almost 3 hours from the neariest dealer, the car is out of warranty and I want to insure proper procedures are followed to remove any trapped air. Thanks.

nope, those nipples crack all the time, see that large black plastic screw in line with that nipple. loosen it with the engine running, when the air quits coming out and coolant does, youre done. tighten it and fill to correct level inside and then youre reallydone.
