It is time to purchase my first 4 door. I am looking at a 05 super v8 and a 07 XJR. Both are same color scheme, very clean, price, and mileage 100k. About to ask about maintenance records for both but curious which one other owners might lean towards, with all variables equal.

Granddad duties and two children's car seats just are not an option with my XJS.

The 2007 will be the X358 with the re-style.

Depends what style you like, but the 2007 will have had all the mods done since the car went on sale in 2003, so some issues with earlier cars won't be present. I had an X350 and swapped for an X358 same engine. It tok me a bit of time to get used to the restyle.

 

2007 will have updated electronics as well as VVT so slightly more hp than the 2005.

 

Super V8 will have a slightly softer ride due to the softer suspension set up.
