05 Super V8 100k maintenance
Hi
Just bought my life time dream 05 Super V8.
Car has 100k miles on it and I want to do tune up to enjoy this ride for a long time. I want to do below things. Please let me know if I overlooked anything or maybe you thing that some things are unnecessary. I looked through threads and I could find some answers but for some I couldn't find answers.
All this I will be doing myself. I am pretty handy. I have also 03 Land Rover Disco II.
I want to do:
- Serpentine belt
- Timing belt
- Supercharger belt
- Oil & filter
- MAF sensor clean
- Cabin air filter
- Transmission flush (As many people are pro as against. Please advise)
- Brake system flush (Probably never done in a past. Braking good compering to Disco but LR is a tank compering to jag)
- Cooling system flush (Not sure if necessary - No overheating. To do or not to do this is a question)
- Spark plugs (Platinum or Iridium, Bosch or NGK. I am a little confused LandRover is very sensitive when it comes to such a details)?
- Brake rotors & pads (Vin Chassis G35129, I got problem finding right rotors / pads. Most suppliers offer one for VIN49701 and higher. I definitely want ceramic cause black dust is killing me or maybe semi-metallic)
Thanks for all suggestions. I didn't want to start few threads. i hope it is ok to ask about all this in one post.
The most important answer from me is about the brakes. What brand (I am trying to stay in low budget.)
Sincerely
kozdi

Unless you can prove it has been done before, I would replace (or at least carefully inspect) the radiator overflow bottle. If you have the car far enough apart to replace those various belts it is a lot easier to replace than when the car is all put together.
The nipple where the top hose attaches is prone to break/crack with old age.

Check all suspension joints and bushes front and rear. At 100k, many may have already been replaced, try and find out. FWIW the main ones that wear out quickly are the bushes at the bottom of each of the four spring units, and the rear lower wishbone bushes. Rollbar link ball joints are also a common wear item.

Transmission fluid flush
No records from previous owner. And I can't believe what he did or didn't without being able to verify that.
I think I will do everything except timing chains. I found in manual that they should las about 200k. I hope the same rule will apply to tensioners !?.
I ordered Bosch platinum spark plugs $.50 (after rebate)
Still not sure how to approach transmission fluid flush. I ordered oil pan gasket. I can't find filter anywhere online or in store except for the in line units. Suggestions please, is there a filter in transmission and where to find it?
What is your approach to draining / flushing ( through the pan then, drive some distance as sugestet in other threads and then drain again pan and fill up with new transmission fluid?)

It is good to ask owners. They always know better then manufacturer what are common problems.
