Default 06 XJ Vandenplas - Fuel door won't open? HELP!!

Hi all,

The fuel door won't open on my 06 XJ Vandenplas -- the door is opened electronically via a switch panel on the dash, other buttons on the panel are working (trunk switch for example). Any thoughts on what could be causing the door not to open?

I've been told to check the following - check all 3 fuse boxes (under passenger side dashboard, trunk, and under the hood).

Thanks!

have you, in fact, checked your fuses?

the fuse layout is listed in the owner's manual.

i do not have it in front of me, so i cannot tell you exactly which fuse box to check, but if you don't get a better reply by tmrw, i will look it up.

This probably won't be much help, but I have a 7-step procedure I generally use when refueling my '05 VDP:

1) Reach down & press release button.
2) Get out of car and walk around to fuel filler - not open.
3) Go back to driver's door, reach in & push release again.
4) Walk back round to fuel filler again - still not open.
5) Slap forehead, curse, and close trunk lid.
6) Go back to driver's door again, reach in and press CORRECT release button.
7) Walk back around to fuel filler again and fill fuel tank.

While your hunting down your fault don’t forget there is a manual release in the boot as well

That might be the 8th step

Cheers
