06 XJ8 Drivers Window suddenly inop
Ahhh,
Me and my damned big mouth bragging about how reliable this car has been has finally bitten me in the butt. Short of a preventative expansion tank replacement and a small piece of vacuum hose after nearly 93k miles something has indeed gone wrong.
The driver's window has suddenly decided to stop working. Since the garage is full of weird things like old Vauxhall veloxes, and the window is down, this is an issue as it's parked on the street.
A glance at the archives suggested maybe the window switch.... I yanked it tonight, opened it up, everything looked fine and saw no bad solder joints on the circuit board. However, with the switch out of the car and unplugged I can still lower and close the rest of the windows and the sunroof with the key but the driver's window is still dead.
It's late and I haven't yanked it apart... yet; that's tomorrow's job but curious if anyone has had a similar problem or would suggest a known issue?
If this was an XJ40 or an X300 I'd have fixed it already... oh well...
Thanks in advance,
Bill
