06 XJR got a little too hungry and ate the SC rotors
It could be all she wrote for my 2006 XJR. On the weekend it ingested debris from the SC rotors into cylinder #1. Eurocharged Cincinnati rebuilt the SC 2 years ago, everything they touched on my car they screwed up.
As the car now has 181k miles on it I don't think it's worth repairing or installing a new motor in it. The rest of the car is in good shape, just installed new brake rotors on the rear and 4 new Michelin PS4 A/S tires on it a few months ago.
I knew my XJR was getting on in age and may not last much longer, I ended up purchasing a 2017 Benz S550 last year as my primary car, my XJR became the run it until it dies backup car.
Any recommendations on what to do with it?

How's the rest of the car aside from the engine and supercharger? If everything is in otherwise good shape and was working well, maybe it would be worth it to put in a used engine and SC, especially if you've already combed through the rest of the car and know that the bones are good. If you've done a lot of repair work and prevenative maintenance already, the odometer reading doesn't really mean that much.
Sometimes it's better to deal with the devil you know than the devil you don't.
Scouring local yards can yield great results that can save you some dough, especially if the staff don't realize what they have. I was able to get a good used engine, SC, and trans all as one piece from a wrecked, 80k mile S-Type R for a little over $500 last year. The staff thought it was just some regular old S-Type

Taking a quick look for used engines online I did see an 09 XF 4.2 SC with 80k miles for $3k. My mechanic quoted $7k to perform an engine swap, this price seems high. However, I don't have the tools or time to perform the work, so a mechanic would have to perform the swap, the total price would be $10k for engine and labor.
The transmission is original, I've performed a full fluid change and installed a maintenance kit (new filter/pan, internal rubber pressure grommets and plastic plate) on it once.
I've taken the high pressure manifold off and exposed the SC, it doesn't appear that bad, I thought it would be a lot worse. I'll remove the SC and perform a full inspection of it.
I didn't see any debris in the intercoolers either, I was surprised they were still clean from the cleaning I gave them 2yrs ago.

I managed to remove the SC and didn't find any damage to it or likelihood of it being the cause. I checked the #1 cylinder with a borescope and saw no issues there either. I'll check the other front cylinder, as the mechanic said it was one of the front cylinder. If there's no issue with the front cylinders, them It's possible it could be a timing chain/tensioner issue.

ONCE (only, ever..) timed a FIAT 124's DOH Cams 180-degrees out of phase. Cost me new valves, guides, seals, pistons. Did rod & main bearings, new gudgeon pins, hand honed bores, hand surfaced block deck and head on principle. Came good with smooth power, lower oil consumption than factory new.
BMW six cracked the head it came in the door with and two Netherlands-done rewelded ones after. It, too, had to be gifted new bearings, pistons, rings, and valves.
Both of those, and a few more 'merican made rockerboxes were done in the vehicle. THAT part I will no longer consider, what with age and stiffness earned over nigh-on 80 years.
Gots to order meself a new engine stand for the L320's 5.0.
Keeps me out of pubs and brothels.
Can yet-another used car promise you that LAST part?
Might want to rebuild the Jaguar's mill after all?

In any case, OUCH is the correct term. Even if the original damage is "only" the cylinder head, I fear that metal particles have damaged the cylinder itself.
