Default 1985 xj6 with 79,000 miles.....should I buy it?

Hi guys, I'm new to this forum and to jags in general so I wanted to come on here and see if I could get some input on a car I'm thinking of buying. It's a 1985 xj6 with 79000 Miles on it. It's more or less complete with a few dings here and there and it needs cleaned up. It's been sitting for 3 years but ran when it was parked. Has 3 flat tires as well lol...but this is project or an investment so keep that in mind. The owner wants $350 for the car. Good deal?
Thanks in advance for any info or input

You've posted in the wrong forum !

The forum for your car will be found in the Jaguar Models (Classics) section of the forum - XJ6 & XJ12 Series I, II, & III. Your car is a late Series 3

Buy it, maybe. I passed one up at $1,200. You know it is a project you are buying right?

Of course! Im just hoping to get it running and sell it for a profit. I figure the catalytic converters alone are worth close to $350 in scrap price etc etc.

Any car that runs is worth 350.00. Jump it off. Check AC. Air up tires. Drive. Estimate costs to clean up. Then triple it.
I used to want one when this car was new. Classy, but seemed most in Corpus Christi had a Chevy 350 and Turbo 400 replacing the Jaguar running gear after five years. Made it easy decision to buy a Honda.
Mechanic support was non-existent then. Had a dealer local, I looked at Jaguars and girlfriend wanted an Alfa. She bought a Miata.
I had muscle cars to work on, wanted the XJ6 to drive.

Default Jump on it

I looked on eBay to see what 1984 - 1887 XJ6 sell for. None. But saw a transmission with asking price of 2800.00. Saw a Nardi steering wheel for 1500.00.
The car might part out at ten times the current price.

Hi Daniel,
No, don't buy it. You should pass on this offer and let me buy it.
