I came to ask about my 2000 Jaguar XJ8 starting but then saying "Restricted Performance.
I have an OBD tool and the errors read:
P0304 - Powertrain Cylinder: 4 Misfire Detected
P1316 - Powertrain
P0354 - Powertrain: Ignition Coil "D" Primary/Secondary Circuit
P1000 - Powertrain
The car still starts and drives but the engine rattles like crazy.

Any possible solutions and/or feedback is appreciated

 

Do you think it might be telling you that a coil pack is buggered and might need replacing?

Any history on when it last had new spark plugs?

ECM to ignition module primary circuit
open circuit, short circuit to ground, high resistance


Ignition module to ignition coil primary circuit, open circuit, short circuit to ground, high resistance


Ignition module ground circuit open circuit, high resistance

When my '99 XK8 threw a similar code for cyl. #6 I first changed all the plugs which needed changing anyway. When that didn't work I went to what for me was the easiest path and installed a new coil. Problem solved. That was over a month ago with no subsequent problems.


I bought the coils on eBay as even the parts stores like Advance Auto wanted a $150+ and I bought 4 for a total of $95 including shipping from:
