HI Ya'll,
I just bought a used 2001 XJR and I wanted to know if my supercharger sounds normal to some other owners. I have two videos and there is a slight whistle/winning sound coming from my supercharger. I know super chargers have a whine to them, but I want to make sure this sounds correct. Please take a listen and let me know what you think. Also, if the videos don't work, let me know. The only way I could upload was by zipping the files.
Thanks ya'll!

What I hear in the video clips is not as quiet as I would like to hear but not that bad either.
My rebuilt SC was making noticeably more noise than yours and I have sent it back to the company that rebuilt it.
When I first installed the rebuilt SC it was quieter than yours in the video clips.

My car only has 51000 miles. I found a site that has parts to rebuild the nose for 100 or replace it for 200. I believe the major failing components are there besides the needle bearings. I see you have a lot of engine upgrades... do you have listed links to the work you have done? I would like Bluetooth for sure and possibly the pulley and gear upgrades. Any feedback is great feedback.
Ps. Should I change the oil in the SC? I found an eaton link saying I should in 30000 mile integers.
Thanks

My car has 49K miles and is louder. Yours is fine, don't worry about it.
You don't need to change the SC oil at this point but it doesn't hurt. I'm thinking of doing mine. Just put back how much you removed (measure it). If you want to make your life easier, buy a kit like 2 Eaton supercharger Oil w Syringe 4 232 Ounce Bottle Eaton Change Kit | eBay
Personally I just bought a cheap syringe with tube from China (eBay) and will buy the GM supercharger oil locally since it's cheaper that way.

The Bluetooth module for my car will not be compatible with your car and the same for VCAM.
As far as upgraded pulleys go if I were to do it again I would only add the upper 2.6 pulley and not bother with the other SC mods I did.
