Hello all, I am having an issue with the driver's side headlight assembly (USA model).
I have narrowed down the problem to the headlight assembly through swapping the opposite sides assembly into the problem side and getting the opposite headlight assembly to work fine. So now I know the problem is down stream of the headlight assembly plug. I also know I have a good bulb (I verified on good assembly).
I think the problem has to do with water getting into the assembly and then into the little control box that is attached as the bottom of the light assembly. I have removed it and searched the part number with results showing that it is also called a ballast. My understanding was that these cars had a separate ballast upstream of the headlight assembly, is this a second one or am I simply confused?
Second, is this an issue that is somewhat common? Water entering the headlight assembly and draining into this control box (ballast) and throwing water in circuit parties?
Third, the gasket on the clipped in rear access door is missing from my headlight assembly, I am assuming most of the water came in through there. Is this a part that is available to purchase and if so can someone direct me to a reputable supplier or a link would be the most helpful!
Thanks for the help!
