I know it to late now but there is a company that puts chevy LS engines in Jaguars --- easy maintenance and cheap parts --- not to mention GREAT performance! Jaguar specialties.com

I'd hate to see another one head to the breakers. Especially for something like a P/S pump. Gosh, I've done so many steering and water pumps, alternators and a/c compressors in my day. Sure, it might be a bit tricky for the first timer, but gosh, partsgeek has 'em refurbished for $63.00! If you were in So Cal I know a few blokes that would be happy to install it for not much more than the cost of a couple of crates of Newcastle. BTW, I did all 4 air shocks on my car in about 3 hours at the cost of less than $1,000 with remans. Best of luck!

I had a chevy powered XJ6...Loved it! Had a Hurst shifter 4 speed. Unfortunately Jag Specialties does not do beyond 2003 according to the website.

There's plenty of those sitting in back yards all across the country that don't run either. Just look in Craigslist. Yeah, you can send 'em to the boneyard. They pay $20 per ton. And charge $75 for the tow.

It would be infinitely easier and cheaper all the way around to simply locate a used Jag engine than attempting to install some run-of-the-mil engine designed on the cheap.
