You do realize, you can copy MP3 from disc to drive/SD card, right?
I would. I used to use an iPod in my car. Switched to an MP3 disc player because it was easier to burn audio onto a CD than to get it onto the iPod (damn thing won't let you copy files; it insists on "syncing", which means if you copy a file onto your iPod from your work computer, it will erase everything you copied onto it from your home computer), and FAR easier to grab a CD from the overhead visor and pop it into the CD player than to find a new album on the iPod while driving.

Ipod is not the same thing as an SD card plugged into a USB port of the ACM. Its as aesry as dragging from one folder to another on the computer. I dislike I-anything.

There is a software called "Floola" (***.floola.com). Try it instead of itunes. It doesn't erase files which are no longer on the computer, that is actual connected to the ipod.
Oh, and best part: It's free.

Whoa, so, what... our cars WILL play MP3 discs? I never bothered to try. This interests me because the audio quality would be a lot higher than running through an aux cable/bluetooth from a smartphone! I've got a CD changer and another CD drive in the dash, why not load it up with MP3's? And do the steering wheel controls work with it?

I think I will burn a disc today and experiment...

EDIT: Tried it, didn't work. First I tried it with the MP3 files in folders. Then I tried it by putting all the files flat in the root directory and removed all album art files. Tried it in both the head unit and the changer. It says 'playing' and ticks away seconds but there's no sound, and if you hit the 'next track' button it just restarts with the silent 'track 1' that never ends. Ah well...
2004 XJ8. I have a CD player in the dash and a CD changer in the trunk. Neither plays MP3s.
