Did the battery reset, error came back immediately.

I decided to cut my losses early. The old and good original strut went back in today. Immediately, the car responded to fill it back up as soon as I opened the car door. Mind you car off, key not in the ignition. After starting it, the car filled it back all the way and the Vehicle too low message went away after a couple miles. No idiot lights. So nice to have the soft air ride back!!!

Lesson, sometimes the minimalist approach pays off, if you can afford it, buy new parts.
Pics to go along with the story. Notice the grommet retainer clip popped off the control arm and I had to replace it. These are the Euro parts.

Thanks for your help.

No, you need dealer level software to identify the code(s), repair said fault and clear stores codes in the module.

Great news indeed. The air suspension is nice when it works 100% same with CATS.

I swapped over to Arnotts coil overs. Glad I did. One less thing to worry about...

I am really dreading this, today 67 degrees, come out of supermarket and find car front end really low and the dreaded message pictured below.
I am a phone call away from scrapping the air suspension and going with the Arnott conversion.
Suspecting the only RMT shock replaced in front, has become leaky like the others, and the compressor can't pressurize the system in the allotted time leading to AIR SUSPENSION FAULT and VEHICLE TOO LOW greetings,

Any advise that I can try before the big expense? Compressor replaced about 6 months ago. Not sure of the quality.

If you bought a cheap pump, dogged it out with bad shocks, rebuild your original pump & put it in.

The selling dealer put it in actually, they probably went economical. Not sure what landfill the original ended up in.

I just ordered the Arnott conversion kit from Rock Auto, probably should have done that from the start. Good-bye air suspension!

Yep, seen them on eBay for $200, right out of junked cars.

Here is the conclusion:
  • The compressor was fine, the rebuilt shock gave up. All three remaining OEM shocks seemed fine. I decided either spend $1000 on one new air shock or $1000 on a new spring loaded set, choice was easy.
  • I received the Arnott C-2745 kit coil overs from Rock Auto.
  • Installed them, fronts easy, rear a true PITA, a second set of hands necessary, getting the shock bolts lined up in the rear is tricky, tie rod hard to get back on without compressing control arm up with a jack, hard to turn the big bolt without a lift
  • Bypass module wired in, all errors gone, notice the four wires tap in, and the module tucked in the factory bundle of wires
I hope I save someone in my circumstance some time and money in the future, just do the conversion first, unless you like tinkering. Sure the air suspension is nicer, but so is peace of mind.

Thanks for all your help.

Hows the handling on spirited drives? I really dont care for air suspension. It feels disconnected in my honest opinion. If rather have springs and shocks. Prefer stiff rides too.

Certainly feels more connected to the road, which sounds like you might like. The C-2745 is the softer version of the Arnott kit with the USA springs, the other Arnott kit for the X-350 features German springs, is my understanding, that are more sporty and grippy. I am quite happy with the results, it is a bit more sporty, but not as smooth as the air suspension. But I have peace of mind that my car will stay "up". I think both kits use Eibach shocks. Haven't done much spirited driving yet. I like the way it sits a bit higher in the back, it looks hot roddish. I will post a pic.
