Great thread and collaboration as usual. My 2005 XJ8L (ordered new for wife on 20th wedding anniversary) started dropping overnight in the right rear. My thought was that the original rear struts needed replacing @ 207,000 miles. I put new Arnotts on the front at 150,000. Installed RMT on both rears today. Initially the struts inflated and everything was good. After test drive and parking it, the rears deflated fully and the front's maintained the correct height. I opened the trunk and heard air escaping out of the right rear strut. It was not at the air connection but where the electrical connector screws into the strut. Will call RMT tomorrow and get a replacement sent out.
JCalhoun saved my night by his reply to your post about a leaking strut can thrown different codes and result in pulling your hair out chasing a phantom. My plan is to install a replacement, non leaking strut and see if that cures the rear problem.
Thank you all for your input and best of results to Valmoz and his good looking 2005!
