Default 2004 X350 XJR Coolant Hose Diagram?

Hey all, I have no way to download Jtis at this time so was hoping someone could possibly post the coolant hose diagram/s for 2004 XJR. I have searched and found a couple diagrams but I'm still unclear about where a couple of the hoses go. The dealership gave me a wrong hose and I unhooked the long one on the egr valve and don't remember where it should go. This is all because I had the valley hose leak and was working at night so got impatient and frustrated so now I sit scratching my head
I decided to replace all things in the area while I'm at it but I don't want to put any hoses in the wrong location. Also doing SC service and Mina pulley while it's off. Can't wait to get this thing back on the road! Cheers!

I've moved your question from General Tech Help to X350 forum. Members here with the same model will be able to help.

Hi BadCat1,

When I was searching for coolant hose part numbers for our '04, I was very disappointed in the Jaguar part diagrams, which show many of the hoses simply "floating in air" with no indication of where they connect. The part descriptions are no more helpful. Neither are the Workshop Manual diagrams, which are typically close-up illustrations of one end of a hose. But between them all, I was able to purchase all the coolant hoses for our '04 XJR.

You can view parts diagrams without having to download them at jaguarmerriamparts.com or gaudinjaguarparts.com.

To view the Workshop Manual, you have to download the appropriate section (Powertrain, in this case), so that may not be an option. The Electronic Parts Catalog has to be downloaded and installed on a computer just like JTIS.

Please keep us informed.

Cheers,

Don

Thanks for the response Don.

I think I have it narrowed down to does the Valley hose connect to top or bottom inlet of TB (top I think?) And where does the long hose off of the EGR route through and to the left or right inlet on the rear of the thermostat housing. I can't for the life of me remember where that long egr hose ran but pretty certain it wasn't under the SC? Thanks again for any input!

These pics of my 2005 XJR may or may not help. I took quite a few pics when I was taking off my SC to replace the valley hose.
Note there is a hose than runs on the rhs , when sitting in car, between the charge cooler and the SC.

The valley hose does NOT connect to TB.

Thanks Jackra_1
That helps me for the long egr hose that connects to the back of thermostat housing. I was under the impression the small egr hose and Valley hose both connected to the throttle body as in your first pic? I don't believe I have any other hoses that would connect to the area.

Look at the crimps on the hoses that connect to the TB in the 1st pic they are on different hoses that do not relate to the valley hose and the long hose out of the back of the thermostat "branch".

The valley hose and long hose connect to the egr valve cooler as seen in pic 1 and pic 2.

At least on my car they do.

All of these connections "simply" provide cooling to the TB and the EGR so in theory so long as you had the correct flow they could go to either.

On my car I did not want to tackle those crimp connectors so kept those connections in place when taking things apart.

Went to jaguar today and the wrong hose they gave me was for a non SC or S-Type but my vin pulls it up wtf. They also said the Valley hose does connect to the TB so I'm really hoping someone with an 04 can chime in. The parts guy said their "NEW" parts system is a disaster which I have to agree since they don't even show where the hoses connect to which again is my own fault for being stupid.

On the other note I left the hoses attached to the egr so no way I could mess those up as I took one off at a time and replaced with new. Still waiting on some gaskets and need to do my pulley then this thing is going back together one way or another

I do appreciate the replies and will keep on doing my investigating!

If you left the hoses attached to the egr then the long hose and valley hose do attach to the TB in your car.

So long as one hose is carrying coolant in and the other out there should not be a problem.

On my car as I said I did not detach the hoses connected to my TB and they were different to the long hose and valley hose.

Anyway good luck.

Default Valley hose

Where does the other end go to on your car... the part number that is supposed to be for my 05 xjr goes under the supercharger and goes in to my intercooler on the right cooler towards the front.... I'm confused

Hi BadCat1
Here is the diagram from the manual and the key.
There are two hoses in the valley. One is the supply hose to the EGR valve. This comes from the angled fitting at the front left of the valley. It angles across the valley and goes up the right side of the valley (right, as if you were sitting in the driver's seat) and at the back, turns up beside the intake elbow and goes to the EGR valve. This pipe is thick and reinforced at the front, but thins down near the back of the valley.
The return pipe from the throttle body drops down into the right side of the valley and crosses over to the left side at the back of the valley. Towards the front of the valley it moves to the center and connects to the return pipe fitting at the front of the valley.. This pipe is thin at the back, but becomes thick about six inches from the front fitting.
There is a thin U-shaped pipe that connects the output of the EGR valve to the input of the throttle body.
All of these pipes are secured by the genuine spring clamps. Don't be tempted by worm screw clamps, they offer no advantages and several disadvantages over the stock items.
Here are some pics that I hope will help.
