Order the "Comfort" shocks: AS-2395
The AS-2396 are "Sprt" shocks.

hi I have a similar problem but when the temperature drops to freezing or below, the front of the car drops down and I drive it for couple miles to work, park it, then drive it back couple hours later the colder it is the longer it takes to rise again and it dont rise till I drive back from work after being driven for couple miles and parked for couple hours. I wrapped the valve block with insulation and now I'm gonna test the front shocks with soapy water. thanks, any help is appreciated.the car is 99k I bought it last spring.its an 04 xjr

125,000 miles... no issues..
I can almost assure you that your about to get a pausability code c2302 for having a weak air pump..It may not be noisy...but it can still be too weak to raise the car.I just fixed a car like this a few weeks ago...no codes but the front was low,and would not raise the front up,and had no leaks...check ebay for a new pump I spent 350.00 for a new one..installed in 1 hour...Until next time happy wrenching...

Spray the "Airline Fitting" first (Red Arrow). Leaks here will indicate: bad O-rings, loose fittings, or a damaged hose-end. All can be repaired at home.

If no leaks there, remove the "Electrical Connectors" (Yellow Arrow) and spray the top of the shocks. Leaks here indicates a leaking Air-Bladder; purchase a new shock.

Default Air suspension

My air suspension fault msg. came on for my 04 XJ8 with 78,000 miles on it, but only when there were people in my back seat(approximately two). When riding with only front passengers nothing happens, but noticed a small sag on drivers rear side and also hears a hiss for about 10 secs when I get out. Can anyone help me solve this issue?

Default Front air shocks

If you are on a tight budget (as many of us are), you could go with a used one from eBay or maybe a forum member has one for sale in the "for sale" section. Arnott only appears to sell them in pairs.. Check everything above this post to find where the leak is coming from before you replace the struts. It could be your height sensor on the front. One height sensor on the front runs the two front struts. On the rear, each strut has it's own height sensor. You can try a patch, but I've never had long term success on anything patched. Check hoses, connections, etc BEFORE you replace the struts. Hope this helps you out. Good luck!
I have this same identical problem on my 2004 Vanden Plas. I installed new Arnott shocks, 4 months later, the problem resurfaces, but, it was also October and the night temps began to drop again. I got new warranty shocks, and the problem is worse. Where else can I look besides the shocks? Where are those valves that control the front shocks? I also replaced the air pump with a new Arnott pump. Thinking about putting the old one back in to see.

It's been very cold (by LA standards) recently, and this morning the temp was in the 40s. I saw a fellow XJ on the freeway with its front suspension on the bump stops. Poor guy. It made me very thankful that I converted to coilovers during the summer. I definitely would've been in that same predicament if I hadn't.
