2004 XJ8 Loose wiring weak connection
Hey to all,
When I bought my XJ8 everything was working except the headlight controls and one mirror tilting when in reverse.
I bought a Bluetooth audio transmitter that plugs into any cigarette lighter jack. I put it in the front cigarette lighter jack and decided to move it into my glove compartment. When I pulled it out it started to pull the jack out with it and then some of the electrical components went dead.
Now I've checked the fuses and they are all fine. These are the issues:
-Windows do not work but sunroof does occasionally
-Driver and passenger illuminating floor lights are very very dim or off when doors open.
-The back light for A/C and Radio are dimmer.
-Sports mode and traction control light do not initiate when turned on.
I believe either the grounding isn't secure or maybe there are some loose wires somewhere. I just don't know how to go about this situation. When I drive now sometimes the windows will work (only had it come back once). And at night I can see the illuminating floor lights are really dim for passenger side and driver side but they work perfectly for the back. Do I start by checking the front cigarette lighter jack and seeing what wires were yanked when I pulled it out? Or another way entirely.
Thanks,
Paul
