Default 2004 XJ8 rebuilt tranny

My dad and I recently rebuilt the tranny in his xj8 as it had a crack in the a clutch. We put it back in the car and it ran and shifted fine. It started leaking from the main seal behind the torque converter so we pulled the tranny again and replaced the seal. We installed it back in the jag and hooked everything back up properly but now we have no drive to the wheels. Reverse doesn't work and drive doesn't work. Actually none of the gears turn the wheels. It is full of fluid the torque converter is full of fluid and we get a gearbox warning light on the dash. Just wondering if anyone has had this issue and what the fix is as we are both stumped as I why we have nothing turning the wheels?
Thanks

I would chcek the electrical connections and ground. Long ago I read that the wiring harness to the transmission can easily be damaged upon transmission removal because it is attached to the transmission itself at the top and gets yanked on. Hope this helps.
Kudos on rebuilding the tranny. Once you get your tranny resolved it'll be awesome if you could post a write up! Best of Luck! I'm sure others will chime in to help too.
