Default 2004 XJ8 thoughts

Hi...

I have an 04 XJ8.... 87,000 miles... british racing green... put some 20 inch Senta's on her.... she looks great and I love the way she drives... and rides. However, I have a delimma.

I am in Houston. Have dealt some with Momentum Jag here... and I have to say... service is horrible. I complained and quite frankly... no one there really cares. I shudder at the thought of going back to those morons. Ergo my delimma. The thought of having to deal with their incompetence is enough for me to contemplate selling my car. It's not worth the hassle factor.

My question... is my car going to be such a maintenance pig that getting service on her is going to drive me crazy ?? I don't expect perfection... but I do expect something other then what I am receiving now. I have own most of the other nice rides.... BMW... Lexus.... Infiniti.... and wanted to try out a Jag. I love the car...... I don't love having her serviced. It's easily the worst I have ever experienced. I just wanted ya'lls opinion as you have owned and operated Jags longer then I. Thanks very much for your thoughts.

A slightly frustrated Jag owner...

Dick,

It's hard to respond in too much detail without knowing what the issues were with your car and the Momentum dealershp.
There are, however, a few indie service providers in Houston that our members like. Have a look in the South Forum and you will turn up a few posts on the subject.
I myself have an 05 XJR with 65 K on her. I can't say that she's been trouble free but but I'm more than pleased. I do a little of the work myself and the rest goes to a very good indie shop we are blessed with in Orlando or a fine dealer service shop in Tampa.
KBO mate.

One of our stalwart and helpful contributors, Brutal, is in Sugarland, I would run there in a heartbeat.

I noticed in previous posts that it mentioned Brutal worked at Momentum, but given the amount of great posts I see under him and the community approval he has I would be curious to know if this is the same dealer ship that the OP is mentioning.

I'm looking for a place for my 2004 XJ8 to get its future work done as well. Up until recently I've been going to Jaguar Central on Old Kay rd, and while I've had an overall great experience, the wait and delays there have been horrible each time. If not of the Service advisor there I would have moved on sooner.

At any rate, back to the topic, I was considering visiting Momentum (per the posts about Brutal) or possibly and Indie that had good references - I'd like to hear more about the negative experience you had with Momentum to judge if I need to remove them from my list of potentials (and to validate that this is the same Momentum that Brutal is at).
