Default 2004 XJ8 VDP no start after accident and airbag deployment

I just purchased a 2004 XJ8 VDP that had a light bump in the front bumper blowing the driver side airbag. Everything comes on but there is no crank when I turn the key. I've heard Audi has a "Battery Interrupt Igniter" that shuts the engine down as a safety measure after an accident, so does Jaguar have something like this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated...Love this car and plan on making it my daily driver.

You seem to be implying that you bought the car as a non-runner after the accident. If an airbag goes off, all sorts of things can happen in the electrical installation, so it would be best to get the car checked out by a Jaguar specialist.

However, as a first step, check the inertia cut-off switch that is accessed via an aperture in the footwell by the A post. Its on the passenger side for my UK car that has RH drive. It may be on the other side on a US car. The Owner Manual tells you where it is. This switch cuts out the fuel pump, and may also inhibit the ignition and starter circuits.

Thanks, Fraser...I'll go take a look at that. This happened to my 87 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe many years ago and the Inertia switch was in the trunk. With that car though, it would crank, just wasn't getting gas. I am supposed to take it to a local foreign shop tomorrow but we may be getting snow, so I won't be pulling the Jag on a trailer if that happens. I know it's something simple as resetting something....just have to find out where it's at. The car was running when it was bumped....very good service records too, so I am confident this will be a keeper and become my daily driver. Just sitting in it and listening to the Alpine stereo is a blast AND, the fit and finish on these cars are remarkable. Even the doors closing are so tight, just like a girlfriend I had back in high school! I'll let you know what I find out later today and THANK YOU for responding!

Fraser Sir, I found the inertia switch on the drivers sive A-Pillar, pressed it to reset the switch and she is alive! Can't believe it was that simple!!!
There was even an access hole in the kick panel to reach in to reset the switch, but I pulled the panel off to see what I was dealing with.
Thank you so much for helping!!!

Pleased to be of help. So now we all know the inertia switch doesn't just cut-off the fuel pump ! In the Jaguar book it just says it cuts off the fuel pump.

Yes, now we know. I will post a few pics later of the switch and the location to help others. Now if I can find a set of XJR wheels, I'll be happier.
