I ordered the parts from two places, parts geek and eBay.

From eBay I ordered the rear links and toe adjusment rods. Listing #162024355073

The rear upper control arms from eBay listing #150883671860

The rear lowers control arms from Parts Geek. I ordered for a 2002 Lincoln LS Control Arms, Doorman 521-937 and 521-938. This parts are the same for Jaguar.

I think the parts ran around $850 or so. Labor was $950 but it included 4 wheel alignment plus transmission filter and fluid service. You are probably looking at around $1600 if you don't do the transmission service.

To me it made sense to do the tranny service since the car was going to be on the lift already.

Just to let everyone know the Moog lower control arms DO NOT fit a 2008. The lower bushing is too wide to fit into the steering knuckle.

Shbiv; I am awaiting delivery of the Moog RK621951,2 arms for an '05 XJ8 after reports on this forum that they fit. After reading your troubling post I found bushing XR887-BU at JustJags which has spacers allowing 54 or 59mm wide fitment at the brake knuckle. Would this solve your fitment problem? This solution is not optimal but still much less expensive than OEM arm replacement. I've been unable to get to my car to measure the required bush width, please post your findings if you do this. Thanks.

Steve/C; I decided to send the Moogs back (bought them from Amazon so have very reasonable returns). I had a gut feeling they would not work since the part number changed sometime I believe in 2005. I did not want to deal with trying to get it to work . It also appears the bushings that I am able to find online to switch out on the arm are consistently referencing 2004-2005 XJs only. I decided to go ahead and buy the OEM lower arms from a UK supplier and have them shipped over. This was about $175 cheaper than buying them here in the USA.

Hello Gang. After reading this thread couple of times, am I correct in assuming that:
1) the rear lower control arms for a 2004 XJ8 and XJR are the same and consequently:
2) The bushings are the same and I can buy bushings for a 2004 XJ8 to replace those in my 2004 XJR?

Thanks!
Mike

Well after rereading this thread, i ordered a set of rear lower arms for my 04 XJ8.
A set for a 2002 Lincoln LS, Moog # RK621951, & RK621952 for $317.66 delivered.
I sure hope they fit., but so far everything said here to fit does, regardless of what the dealer,& suppliers say.
Have two sets of Moog uppers on the shelf, a set for both the 04, & 07, being the same part.
Now will have to look for a set of lowers to fit the 07.

Always & only use that link:

https://parts.jaguarlandroverclassic.com/parts/index/part/id/C52.C5257.C5257287.C52572875822/brand/jaguar/

or look for LEMFORDER replacement.

I purchased mine from a Ford dealer. Had to shave a 1/4” off the arm to widen to gap enough to allow installing the shocks.
Used a Sawsall. Took a minute on each side.
I am not sure if year is the issue. Might be the Ford/Lincoln shocks are not as wide as the Jaguar air struts.

Hi Everyone, I need to redo my entire rear suspension (according to the shop) I am going to possibly redo this myself or find a true indy guy. I am pretty confused on the control arms, if I bought the rear control arms do they come with the bushings included? Or should I be looking to just redo the bushings? I really appreciate any help or newer links!

Here is what I plan on buying (unless others can suggest a better route:

Looks like you have located the parts you are going to need, do you have the rear upper arms?

Rear lower arms come complete with bushes. Jaguar would not sell the bushes separately as there is a risk of cracking the aluminium casting when swapping out bushes. I know this is fact as a local shop near me set themselves up with press and mandrels to do the job and had a crack occur on one. With the legal liability issues, they had to stop replacing the bushes. However, the price of the complete arms is now much more reasonable; (it used to be £460 each !!!!). The aftermarket suppliers soon found the OEM supplier and made these available at around half this price. Swapping out bushes in aluminium forgings is OK and hence Jaguar supply trunnion bushes for the front arms.

Fraser, that is very helpful, thank you for the information! It seems as if MOOG has been highly rated, so I went that route for a third party option.

Well the uppers fit on my 07 like a glove, the lowers had to be modified.

The bushing for the hub was too large, trimmed both sides of the bushing, as well as the hub.

Took a long time to get them to fit, sure hope they fit the 04 better than the 07.

What I have heard is 2004 is fine, it is around 2007 they made some slight modifications. I still haven't ordered, still looking for a good shop that will put on aftermarket, I found out I can't do any work on my apartment grounds and good luck with me getting any time to do it anyway. lol

I've read that as well, that's why i bought them in the first place.

Also thought the shock width was the issue on later models, it was not.

The caster-camber is a still little out of spec on the rear wheels, toe is fine, car steers well.

Default Fitment Confirmed With Mevotech Supreme

Hello All,
Old but very useful thread. I just wanted to confirm proper fit on a 2004 XJR for Mevotech Supreme lower control arms (C)MS401154 and (C)MS401155 ordered from Rock Auto as per fit for a 2002 Lincoln LS. They bolted right up with no modification. I like these better than the Dorman or Moog offerings and I was not disappointed.
