Default 2004 XJR Adaptive Cruise brainbox - Where is it?

I have a customer who has a 2004 XJR and nobody can find the cruise control module at a wrecking yard. Does anyone have a pic of the module, or know where it might be hiding? I've heard it's behind the front bumper and up near the headlight, but it's like the Loch Ness Monsteri - lots of talk but no actual sightings!

Sorry, just had my front bumper off and I could have taken a pic. I think you need to remove the bumper cover. That only takes 15 min. It is to the left of the oil cooler and right of left foglamp and below the main bumper metal beam. It is a plain black box, about 6" wide and 2" high. Hope that helps.

Hi 21ravens,

Welcome to the Jaguar Forums!

The ACC module can be accessed by removing the radiator splash shield. The front bumper does not need to come off. Here's a photo of the module in situ (green arrow). It's mounted to the left of the radiator and below the left headlamp (left when viewed from the driver's seat). Fore reference, the orange arrow points to the air suspension compressor:

And here's the module removed from the car:

Out of curiosity, what symptoms have led to the diagnosis of a failed ACC module?

Also, since we're a friendly group, please visit the https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...-intro-must-5/ and post an introduction so we can give you a proper welcome and learn something about you.

Cheers,

Don

21Ravens,

Good luck finding one. The '04 XJR low VIN cars are the only ones with this critter.

Part way through the model year, it looks like that went to a 2-box system that is not interchangable.

I've been searching for a while and will probably ship mine off for repair.

But, hey, if you find one ... or two ... let me know where.

Thanks in advance.

Default Thank you all

Wow, great response from everyone, and thank you so much! I don't know what caused the failure, but finding this is needle-in-a-haystack tough. If you can get them used, they're about $400 - don't know what it would cost to have it rebuilt. Thanks for the location info, too. That was extremely useful.

These guys should be able to affect a repair. Last time I called them it was $650.
