Default 2004 xjr adding rear dvd sysytem

Hello all,

Can someone help me with some wiring. on the right side of the Jgate there is a harness that has a set of wires going into it from the tv monitor control unit in backseat. it is 2 black cords that feed a total of 6 wires into the harness connector. the colors are in this order (pink, white, red, white, brown, white).

the pink white red white are in one thick black wire and the brown and white wire is in a separate thick black wire. i pulled the wires out separately from the donor harness and feed them into my harness connector. what i need assistance with is the plug that plugs into that connetor doesnt have the wire in it to complete the ones i just put in. these should feed into the back of the navi console unit, where i dont know. i have the other end from the donor harness but since the end of it was cut i still dont know where to make the connection for those 6 wire. can someone tell/show me where they should connect?

thanks in advance.

Magmedia, I have been looking at the electrical guide on this set up for a while. Looked again this morning and I think CC11 is the Navigation/Telematics Display. There is only 1 Connecter going to it. So, I am going to put the wires there and Pray that I don't destroy anything. I may tried to find a car that had this equipment maybe a newer model than mine and see if the pre wiring is there. Do you have a link to the electrical guide you are referring to? Just in case I am looking at something different.

thanks for the response

Hopefully, direct link to electrical guide located at: http://www.mediafire.com/file/sgk9xz...Electrical.pdf
Lots of good reference at the how to quick links page: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...k-links-20085/

Am looking at Figure 15-3 to see if there is any commonality to photos you provided.

enjoy

Am interested in this project as I have considered this type of installation in a non-rear entertainment car.

From a component perspective, I seem to recall that the installation requires:

Headrest LCD
Video control box
Arm rest control panel
Telematics Harness
DVD Player

Possibly more...

So, if we can break this installation down into a couple parts, it may be helpful for me to better understand. Found some photos on ebay, we may be able to use these as a reference.

Thanks-
mag

Default May be way off but...

Check the photos here, sounds like pink white, red white, brown white at the nav unit are connected as shown.

Seems like CC11 will define the connector and the number after the dash will define the wire's position.

Certainly a guess regarding the position of the cabling on my part, but am rooting for you and success of the project!

thanks-
mag

Well, the guy found the harnes connectors that were cut. There appears to be a separate connector for the 6 wires. I don't recall seeing anywhere to plug that connector in. There is only 1 harness that plugs into the back of the Navi Screen. So, I am not understanding why they are saying it plugs into the Navi/Telematics Display in the Fig. above. Do you think there was more than 1 Navi Screen that had more than 1 plug in the back? That doesn't make sense to me.

Thanks for the link that is what I have been looking at. There was another page that said the same color wires went into the navigation control unit. I think it is above on that same page you sent a clip.

I also have all the parts you show, except DVD unit. So far lights come on, but nothing appears to have power.

Glory to GOD!! Monitors are up and running nothing showing though. need something hooked up to them. apparently the 6 wires are just there. maybe there is something than can be added and then they plug to it. i hooked up the rear ice loop in truck and everything starting working. there is a connection by the jgate loop that says tv amp connection or something like that. did jaguar make a tv module to go in the xj?
